We are a family home which rents out accomodation to Airbnb guests, and share space with workaway volunteers. The large downstairs double bedroom (size 15x13 feet/4.5x4 metres) has TV with DVD player and adjacent private shower room and toilet. You will also have your own private terrace with views of the mature garden and the sea. We have a second smaller upstairs room primarily for Hypnotherapy

consultations. We provide towels, hair dryer, alongside complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There are coffee and tea making facilities in your room and snacks too (Ellemiek loves baking :-). We can also provide lunch and dinner on request (from GBP 10.00 per person. Options include Thai green curry, spaghetti bolognese, vegetarian Moroccan bean stew and home made soup with home made bread rolls, followed by ice cream with home made brownies. If there is anything else you may need, feel free to ask, we would be happy to help. The rooms are part of a 5 bedroom historic Victorian villa occupied by the family. Cars are parked on our land by our double garage, then it is a short walk 140 feet/40 metres down a gravel slope drive to our secluded house. The Botanic Gardens is only a few minutes walk and there are several beaches closeby too. One of our favourites is Steephill Cove where they sell fantastic crab pasties. Guest Access

Guests are welcome to explore our 2 acres of mature garden and woodland again with glorious panoramic sea and coastal views. Interaction with Guests

As this is our home, we are on hand to give advice whenever it is needed, however respect the need for privacy, peace and quiet. We are a friendly and sociable well travelled family. The Neighbourhood

Our 150 year old villa is in a fantastic hidden away location close to amenities and island treasures. The villa is in its own 2 acres mature gardens above and adjacent to the wooded botanic gardens overlooking the sea. It is 15 minutes walk to the beach and coastal paths and a 5 minute drive (25 min scenic walk) to the Ventnor shops, pubs, theatres and other amenities. Getting Around

The scenic coastal path and beach are 15 minutes from our house, and the nearest local railway station is close by at Shanklin which can be reached by bus. Bus stops are 5 minutes from the house. We are within easy reach of Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth and Lymington, and international airports. Other Things to Note

Living here with us are also our two lovely cats, Socks and Moon. They are both lovely and friendly and are mainly outdoors enjoying the garden, but please be aware if you suffer from allergies.

World Cup Footballing ancestors

Perhaps you have an ancestor who distinguished himself as an amateur or professional footballer, and want to find out more. Two of our recent clients had close cousins or grandparents who played national football, played for England or even survived the Manchester United air crash at Munich. It may be possible to trace their career through contemporary newspapers, club records and published histories. Looking back 100 years football offered the possibility of a better standard of living than factory work or mining for a lucky few, and even afforded the opportunity to become local and even national heroes. Want to find out more contact us.

NEW - COMMONWEALTH FAMILY HISTORY RESEARCH - Following interest from our guests we have now set up a new service researching family trees and house histories, both locally on the isle of Wight and internationally. We specialise in researching ancestors in the UK and those who have settled in the Commonwealth and around the world. You may already have undertaken a certain amount of family tree research but we help find those elusive names, elaborate full biographies or discover if you have famous relatives. We can also help analyse in detail your ancestral DNA. Contact Graham for further details by internet at family-history-research.com or on our page at:
