We have space to take entries in our informal Riding School Dressage series this Sunday if anyone would like to take part.

It’s a really laid back ‘anything goes’ show to encourage riders who may be lacking in confidence or wanting to compete without the atmosphere of a bigger competition

⭐️⭐️ RESULTS - BD & UNAFFILIATED DRESSAGE - 28/07/24 ⭐️⭐️

A huge well done to everyone who took part in today’s dressage - it was great to see you all and you’ll agree, its even better when the sun shines!!!

Thank you to our judge, Donald Kear who judged all levels of tests from prelim to PSG and a mixture of old and new tests. Thank you to Hilary Box for writing all day and to Wendy for scoring, June for stewarding and Luke for catering. We really can’t run these shows without these people giving up their time and we really are very grateful 😊

Moving forward, we really do hope that these events continue to be as supported as it was today or we will be put in the difficult position of cancelling dates. So much work goes on behind the scenes to enable you all to go down the centre line. Dates are booked with BD a year in advance, judges are booked a year in advance, helpers need to be found, score sheets need ordering, rosettes need ordering, arenas need rolling, scores need to be updated to BD and so on and so on.

With that being said, we look forward to seeing you all at the next date on Sunday 22 September 2024.

The Cross Country schooling field will be OPEN FROM MONDAY 3RD JUNE!!! 🎊🐎

Same rules apply as always:
🐴 £25 per horse to hire
🐴 all bookings to be made via this page
🐴 declaration forms MUST be filled out before you use the field - please make sure you read these throughly before signing as they contain all the important rules and information you need to know!!!
🐴 skull caps and body protectors to be worn at all times
🐴 riders must be accompanied by adult supervision on foot
🐴🤩 HAVE FUN AND ENJOY 🤩🐴

On behalf of the Holmes family and Lake Farm Equestrian Centre we would like to say a HUGE heartfelt thankyou to Debi Morse for all of her time and efforts in organising and running today’s charity showing show 👏

It was mentioned in conversation last year that we wanted to raise money for a defibrillator at the farm and Debi straight away volunteered herself to organise a showing show to help fundraise. We were blown away to find out that after today’s show the full amount needed has already been raised and we can now get this life saving piece of equipment installed at the farm!!

Debi, you are fantastic and we are sure everyone will agree that today’s show was fun, friendly and just all round superb. Cheers to you! 🥂

Many thanks also goes to all of the judges, sponsors, stewards, helpers and of course competitors (the list goes on!) that make these days what they are - it’s so lovely to see the island’s horse community come together for a fantastic day.

🐎 XC SCHOOLING FIELD UPDATE 🐎

Rest assured that the XC field will be available for hire this year but we are currently unable to get the tractors onto the field to unload the jumps and place them all 🌧️🤦‍♀️

We are hoping that now the long term forecast is looking dry(ish) we will be able to set up shortly - we will post all updates on this page so watch this space!

A huge well done to our small but perfectly formed group of competitors who took part in our BD competition today.

Although not the busiest of days, it was lovely to still go ahead and take advantage of having a List 3 judge on the Island.

As always, a huge thank you to our team of volunteers for helping today - we really can’t do these shows without these people kindly volunteering and giving up their time for us.

We’ll see you all at our next affiliated dressage on Sunday 26 May 2024.

⭐️RESULTS - WINTER DRESSAGE - 17/03/24⭐️

And that’s a wrap! Our winter dressage series concluded today and it was lovely to see you all and to award our series champion and reserve champions.

A huge thank you to our judges, Hilary Box and Jan Drewett, our writers Julie Toogood and Heidi Carden, our scorer Vicky Whyte and our stewards Anna Lek and Freya Rann and to Phil Sampson for liaising with the judges. It takes a small army to put these competitions on and we’re really proud of our little army! We aim to run supportive and encouraging shows and we hope we achieve this for you all.

We’ll post our series winners in a bit also the winners of our prize draw shortly but in the meantime, here’s the results and photos of some of our winners!

Now it’s time to put out feet up and plan the next series of events!
