Not our day today at Northallerton at the area festival finals with Annabelle.
Apparently doing two tempis down the long side will not get you a higher mark than if you had actually done the medium canter that was required, who knew 🤷♀️😂 She was just trying extra hard to please ❤️
Still finished 3rd just missing out on the top two qualifying places 🤦♀️
Back again tomorrow for day 2 😁

Well today ended up being a very long but eventually a successful day.
Set off this morning with plenty of time, ended up in stand still traffic not even 10 minutes from home, 10 minutes later we were moving again so no harm done! Then about 20 minutes from the show we had a great big bang and then smoke from the Lorry 🤦♀️ 7.5 miles (yes specific as I was counting them down on the satnav 🙈) down the hardshoulder at 20mph and we eventually got off. After getting underneath to check, we decided to do the next 10 minutes to the show ground as it was an inner tire that had blown so we could get sorted away from the side of the road 😬 Massive thank you to G W Tyres for coming so far to help us!!
Anyway, Ken (remembered to get a picture today) and Granny Jackie did two super tests coming 5th with 67.20% and 2nd with 67.31%
Buddy then won both his classes with 67.93% and 68.45% 🎉
Two very good ponies that were glad to finally get back home safe as were we.

Annabelle was super today at Manor Grange winning both her classes with 66.55% and 65.69%. We haven’t been out for months so was lovely to get back out with her 🥰

First of 3 days of competing today. We had a trip out to Northallerton Equestrian Centre with Buddy and Ken.
Gran and Ken (no pictures as I was on buddy 🙈) won the novice music with 70% and then Buddy won elementary 4 with 68.33% and elementary 53 with 69.85% 🎉

A few weeks ago I took my BHS stage 3 coaching today and finally got my results today.
Glad to say I passed 🎉
Got the next part of my stage 3 booked for September and then once I’ve passed that I’ll be starting my stage 4 💪

We had a lovely day out today for Granny Jackie’s birthday with a trip to Manor Grange for Ken’s first ever BD. Some tense moments but he’ll just get better 😁

Nelson finished 3rd yesterday at the Northallerton Equestrian Centre summer regionals with 69.22% just missing out on qualifying as it was the top 2 that get the ticket to the nationals 🤦♀️ fingers crossed for a wildcard 🤞 I came out disappointed with my test as I knew there was too many little mistakes but I was so pleased with how rideable he was, so different to a few weeks ago and when we were there and he was a little monkey 🙈😂 Thank you to his owner Karen as always, he’s one special little horse and I feel so honoured to get to ride him 🥰

We were on the road for 8 this morning for a quick trip to Manor Grange so Granny Jackie could have a run through her music with the beautiful Ken 🦄
Nelson just had a stretch today in preparation for regionals tomorrow, the picture is from last year where he was a bit cheeky so hoping now I know him better we will keep it together this time 🤷♀️😂

Had a bit of a normal person day today 😱
Up bright and early to hand walk the handsome Moy for his mum. Then it was Nelson’s turn for an early lesson with Jezz JLP Dressage thank you for fitting us in before regionals. Thank you Karen for coming so early 😅 If anybody has any tips how to film my lessons without having the red box on the pivo would be very much appreciated 🙈😂 I’m not good with technology 🤦♀️
Then got all the poo picking done and set off to Filey for the afternoon. Strange to have a few hours being in non horsy clothes 😂

Had a really good day today at Acrecliffe Equestrian Centre for the BHS stage 4 dressage coach training day. Learnt lots and looking forward to getting my stage 3 finished to start my stage 4 this winter 💪
Finished the day with an evening hack and quick school with the gorgeous Annabelle ❤️

Well that was the most stressful day ever 😂 We got to Weeton show bright and early to get stuck within the first two minutes 🤦♀️
Buddy was quite shell shocked by the amount of things happening at his first agricultural show and it took him a while to settle but still finished second in a good class 💪 Just need to keep putting more miles on the clock! Luckily it didn’t rain and we still had a nice day out 😅
Thank you to Ann, Teresa and Granny Jackie for coming with me. Kyle for his rescue services and Dad for setting off in the tractor, we managed to get out when he was only 5 minutes away 🙈😂

Buddy did a fab job today standing in for Nelson while he’s pulling a sickie 🤦♀️
To say we’ve not done any dressage for ages as we’ve been showing he got 65.31% and 65.90% even with a few excitable moments 🙈 you’d think he’d have been tired in the heat today but apparently not 😂
He’s out having a sleep now ready to go showing tomorrow 💪

We had a trip out yesterday to Northallerton EC with Nelson. Our first test wasn’t our best and we’ve still got some parts to perfect but came away with a win and 68.51%. We then rode our music for the first time and why not attempt it for the first time at a show 🤷♀️
Turns out it wasn’t my smartest idea as I forgot that I was supposed to be doing a leg yield and started my walk instead before eventually realizing 🙈😂 Thankfully my incredible Equidance music is so well made that even though I’ve never ridden it, I knew where I needed to be and I could adjust my floor plan to be able to make it look like I sort of knew where I was going! It can’t have looked that dodgy as we still came away with over 74% 🎉
Nelson has found a new gear these past few weeks so we’re still both trying to find the balance again. I can’t wait for how we will be able to ride it eventually 💪

We had a super day yesterday at our local pony club show.
First up was Lexi and Dudley, their first ever show and full course of jumps so was so proud of them to get round and enjoy it with a bonus of a 3rd and 4th rosette 💪
Then it was my youngest sister Libby riding Doodles doing their first time round a course on their own and then winning the walk trot class 🎉
Buddy next up ridden by myself, he was a little bit excited but managed to hold himself together just enough to win his classes and finish reserve champion ❤️
Gran and I had a little bit of family rivalry in the cob class aswell 🙈😂

Well we’ve got a very busy few months coming up 🙈
First of all let’s talk competitions, 4 horses qualified (some last minute 🤷♀️😂) for the summer area festivals and regionals.
Karen Redfearn’s Nelson HD qualified for the elementary silver regionals.
Dawn Johnson’s Furstenbelle FB qualified for the advanced medium silver area festival.
Ann Walker’s Lakeview Buddy and Tina Brown’s Westpoint Fully Comical qualified for the elementary silver area festival. (Pictures of Buddy and Mickey to follow when we get some professional ones 😁)
As well as competing, I have my teaching exams and some BHS training booked so I will hopefully have more details over the next few months of new training I am going to be able to offer 🎉

So yesterday we rode our novice music test for the last time at Epworth Equestrian Ltd. Nelson was super winning the BD north and east novice freestyle championship with 77.78%
Big thanks to Equidance for our music, we can’t wait to hear our elementary music for the first time 😍

Wow! What an incredible few days. This special little horse just never fails to amaze me, Nelson you are a superstar ❤️
On Wednesday he finished 5th in the prelim gold with 70.46% and then 5th again in the novice freestyle gold with 72.87%
Then today we started the day off with the novice gold. A cheeky moment meant we finished 17th out of a really strong class with 68.395%
He then completely redeemed hisself by getting 73.235% to win the petplan elementary silver 🎉
What an end to a fabulous few days with the most amazing company, granny Jackie and Karen 🥰
I can’t thank everyone enough who makes all this possible.

Well a disappointing but still a productive day today with the lovely Annabelle.
Most importantly, I came away learning a very valuable lesson. Not to trust a professional to fit a bridle and bits you’ve bought from them and instead rely on google and try and do it ourselves 🙈
We took Annabelle to our advanced medium area festival and unfortunately were eliminated due to my snaffle being the wrong way round.
Really frustrating as when I’ve got my score sheet we got 66.11% which had us in the lead but we live to fight another day 😁
Still taken loads of positives from it, my warm up is actually starting to be productive and the way of going is so much better!
Looking forward to getting back out again for the summers ☀️

What a fabulous weekend! Both horses were amazing and I couldn’t have asked anymore of either of them. Met some amazing people aswell which is an added bonus, full results and photos to follow when I get home 😁
