I saw him again today to keep working at his loose lead walking, he’s cracked it when he’s on path walks and lots of progress has been made but now he wants to smell everythinggggggg
Especially when you have two dogs to walk this makes it really difficult for mum

On Wednesday I saw this lovely boy for a season to work on his barking at the TV and dogs when he’s out and about on walks. He is the most loving and happy boy but gets triggered by animations on the TV very easily, with some distraction methods we managed to make some very quick progress with the TV and had a little look at how to use the same process for dog when out on a walk 🐾

We had a 1-2-1 session yesterday to work on some guarding behaviours that are showing. This can be a very common spaniel issue, sometimes from birth and sometimes it crops up a little later on in life. Mochi is now 1 year old and mum and dad wanted some advise on how to work with this.

I got to see this lovely lady from July Puppy Behaviour Course again to to work on do and don’t for her best friend and sister Nora who’s only 4. We looked at new ways to play so that both enjoy playing together and also had a look at how to stop Lula from shouting at the neighbours. Was so so nice to see you all again 🥰🐶🐾
Remember Amber?
I have done a few sessions with Amber and we are seeing some wonderful progress, she is very reactive around dogs and dad understands this will take time. Last week we tried getting her used to a clicker to focus her attention and the is SO smart she has cracked it already and we are starting to add this to walks now 🐶
It’s always an absolute pleasure to see her 🥰

Wow! What can we say? Our first set of UK Sniffer Dogs Gold Scent Detectors absolutely smashed their trial today- and look at the smiles on the little chops! 😍 The pupstars look pretty happy too 😂 I have to acknowledge the support these guys have shown for each other as they have completed what is a challenging course with such good humour- the cheers today for each other were delightful to witness! Well done each and everyone of you! 🎉🎉👏👏 and thanks to our volunteers for the people line-up search Jack Mathery Derren Kay Andy Mathery and Helen Ramshaw’s lovely friend Jo! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
An absolutely massive well done and congratulations to our Bronze Scent Detection Course Graduates!

Yesterday I saw the fabulous Jeta!
I first met Jeta when she was a nervous wreck and didn’t want to go new places or make new friends, just a few months on and she has made massive improvements🥹
This session was to work on how excited she now gets when she sees other dogs 🐶🐾

A team of excellent dog groomers based at Barkley and Co in the Thornes area of Wakefield.
Yesterday I worked with the beautiful little lady Breeze!🐶
She is a little on the nervous side and mum wants to help work on her socialising and getting used to new environments. We did some work in the garden and out in the field as well as helping Breeze get used to mums mobility scooter!
So excited to see you next week for Puppy Class 😍

Our Gold Scent Detection Class were back this week for session 5 and some tough novel areas to search- but every one of them smashed it! Searching with distractions- including hidden butterflies 🦋, inaccessible hides at both height and enclosed, and some difficult hides…. Look at how tired they were by the end of the session! Well done everyone 🐾💪🏻

I got to see her again to work on her reactivity and see how she has been getting on with the little changes and we looked at extra things we can do to help her further, dad thinks she is making progress slowly and is happy to carry on the hard work 🐶
Back with Teddy! Working on some recall in a enclosed field to see what response we would get, his brother Woody is a big foodie but Teddy isn’t always so we were looking at different options to work on his recall, we got some great recall using toys to grab his attention!

On Tuesday I saw the lovely Molly! 🐶
She is a lovely little rescue with an unknown background and mum wanted a bit of help to make her feel more settled. We also wanted to talk about boundaries for the kids in the house so she has her own space and doesn’t feel too overwhelmed, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you all and I think with the help from her new big brother she can settle in fabulously 🥰🐶🐾

Our UK Sniffer Dogs Gold Scent Detectors were back and learning a new scent this week…. Truffle Oil! We have some truffle pig 🐽 competition here- look at them go!!

And finally we have Maisie. She missed last week due to being on holiday, but you wouldn’t know it- she was back and smashing it- showing us all how she is actually identifying as a Labrador Retriever for these sessions 😂 🐾❤️
Here’s Silver Scent Detector Barney. Barney had struggled last week to retrieve the item….. but this week, after lots of pawrent practice at home- we saw a huge improvement and Barney was winning again! 🐾🐾🤩

We’re onto Week 3 of our Bronze Scent Detection Course! A super warm Saturday, so plenty of shade and water for everyone between searches. Our dogs and handlers have advanced into Novel Search Environments. Meaning they are now searching a wide variety of areas, from pipes and bags, to tiny holes in brick vents. Also, searching for various hides (tins, vials, Kong pieces). Every dog is rising to the occasion, fabulous work by everyone! 👏 🐶 ❤️ UK Sniffer Dogs
Say a big happy hello to Woody!🐾 I am blown away with the dedication and work put into Woody with loose lead walking, on his first 1-2-1 we worked on some backwards and sideways walking to build engagement and teaching Woody a touch. We had another 1-2-1 yesterday as a follow up and just look at the difference, no longer pulling off from mum and he’s like a completely different dog!🐶 8.5.24
Our Silver Scent Gang were on it this week - adding the small vials to their scenting kit. They were totally on it and worked incredibly hard....well done guys!
