Say a big hello to Olive 🫒
Yesterday I saw her to work on her over excited barking when she’s out on walks, it can be dogs, birds, squirrels or plastic bags… as we found out yesterday 🤣 mum has tried almost everything now and wanted some help on where to go with this behaviour now. At the end of the session we managed to put the practice into real life as we saw a dog and mum was blown away by the response from Olive, attention straight back on mum and managed to walk past with very limited reaction 🙌🏻
A huge well done to Olive and mum 🐶🐾🤍

Our fabulous duo on last nights Loose Lead Walking Workshop and what an incredible difference after just an hour session 😱🤩

There are so many benefits to sniffing for your dog… have a go at some of these ideas 🐾🐾

I NEED TO BE NOSY!

There are so many benefits in creating activities that allow dogs to use their strongest sense – the sense of scent or smell.

Although dogs have an incredible ability to scent, so many dogs are never given the opportunity to use this sense in a way that’s meaningful to them.

We often expect our dogs to conform to our very visual and verbal human world, neglecting the fact that they largely perceive the world through scent.

The picture in this post is my eldest Schnauzer, Sophie. At 12-years-old, one of her favourite things to do is to find hidden treasures in empty boxes stuffed with balls of paper containing tiny treats. She will then proceed to shred the box into pieces, just in case she missed anything!

Yes, it makes a mess and has to be cleaned up, but being able to watch her sense of enjoyment, purpose, achievement and the calmness and relaxation she feels afterwards, is priceless.

I believe that scenting activities for dogs should be considered an essential need. It really doesn’t have to be difficult, time consuming or expensive.

Scent work is especially beneficial to dogs that may be nervous, fearful, lack confidence, are reactive, have big feelings or are high energy. It gives them a “job” to do in a world where they often have no outlets to fulfil this very natural, biological need.

Provide opportunities for your dog to be “nosy”, it really will make a difference to their wellbeing.

Last night we welcomed 7 new pups onto our Monday Puppy Behaviour Course and we got off to a flying start!🥰🤩🐾

Meet this beautiful boy Reggie!🐶
I saw this lovely little man this morning to work on some crate training. The family have recently welcomed a new baby into the home and they want to put some boundaries in please because of this so we talked though lots of different options so he doesn’t feel left out. Because it will be a big change for him this is not something to rush and we have come up with a step by step plan to stick to 🐾

While puppies are welcome to join our Taster Agility Workshop, it’s important to know that young dogs should not jump because their joints and growth plates are still developing.

That said, puppies can still have a fantastic time! Our workshops are tailored to their age and ability, focusing on:
✅ Confidence building
✅ Gentle obstacles (no jumping)
✅ Fun games and safe exercises
✅ Early exposure to agility equipment

This way, your pup can enjoy all the excitement of agility in a safe, age-appropriate way. 🐾

Yesterday I saw this very lovely boy Winston!🤎
He booked the Loose Lead Walking Workshop with us but wanted to get going with training asap so we did the 1-2-1 session before the workshop to put some measures in place before he came to the class.
He is a super excited 5 month old doodle and loves EVERYONE which makes walking a little difficult.
We are super excited to see him back with us on Tuesday for the class 😍🐶
