Earlier in the week Ellie was sedated so Charlotte could safely clip her legs. As you can see she was very relaxed but was watched closely by volunteer Jacob (as she gradually woke up) while Charlotte quietly tidied up around her. She looks great!

We’ve welcomed some more potential participants to our meet and greet sessions today. Danielle who was on a Community day from her employer Pets at home helped out in the sessions and also turned her hand to anything we asked her to do. This was her second visit so she must have enjoyed herself last time! 👏👏

It was our last Tea with a Pony event of the summer. As usual everyone enjoyed the delicious cakes, watching a session and then meeting Bill. The weather has been very kind to us this year and so it’s been sunshine all the way!

It’s been another brilliant Tea with a Pony afternoon. We welcomed Joel, Stephen and Ron who all had a great time. They really enjoyed their tea and cakes, watching one of our sessions and then meeting Bill. They even managed to give him a bit of a pamper which he really appreciated.

Today work experience student Katie was given leading and mounting area training by Charlotte. They then went for a walk around the fields as Blue continued his ongoing familiarisation training.

Message for our participants from Blue and Ellie.

It’s looking like it’s going to be a very warm week. 😎☀️🌞

We are open as usual but your coach may have to adapt your session for everyone’s welfare and comfort if the temperatures get too high.

So we just thought we would remind everyone of our ‘dress code’ for the warmer weather.

Our participants need to wear long trousers and close toed shoes for their sessions. Shoulders also need to be covered - so no vest tops - and cropped tops are not suitable either.

And don’t forget to apply sunscreen in case we go for a hack around the fields.

The same also applies to our fabulous volunteers!

Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you to everyone who entered our dressage today! We really appreciate your support. Every penny we raise goes directly towards the running of our group.
Unfortunately our photographer was unable to attend today so we only have informal pics to share - snapped by Anita on the gate.
We’ll update you on how much we raised once we’ve totted up next week.

It’s been another lovely afternoon for our Tea with a Pony event. Participant Edward enjoyed his session on Sunny and gave everyone a wave. And of course at the end Bill was the star of the show as he said hello to all our visitors.

It’s Centre Manager Carol’s final fundraising 10k this Sunday in York. She’s already completed Wakefield and Hull 10k’s earlier this year.

Carol is running to raise money to help pay for the exceptional vet bills we’ve faced this year.

If you feel you’d like to sponsor Carol and support our group please click on the link to make a donation.

Every single penny will go towards paying for the treatments our horses have had.

Good Luck on Sunday Carol - and we hope it’s not too hot!

We’ve had an absolutely lovely afternoon welcoming our Tea with a Pony guests and also the Mayor of Wakefield councillor Darren Byford who came for a visit! We had beautiful home made cakes and our guests watched an Olympic Games based session. Everyone also took the opportunity to meet RDA Bill and enjoy the beautiful sunshine.
If you would like to join one of our events in August please message us and we’ll book you in.

Today our school participants recieved Endeavour Awards in their final session of the school year. One was awarded for full participation in RDA sessions and lovely relaxed riding. The other was for excellent use of their voice to communicate with their pony. And as usual we have the more ‘mundane’ jobs to do so Jacob collected poo samples for worm counts. The samples will be sent off and individual worming plans will be devised for each horse. Well done everyone.

We’ve had a busy couple of days catching up with some serious gardening work while we had the time and volunteers to do it. It’s amazing how fast everything grows! Well done volunteer Jacob for getting really stuck in and making everywhere look much tidier. 👏👏 All we need now are a few colourful bedding plants! Watch this space.
