We welcomed some new faces recently.

❤️Tinks has been here almost a month and she belongs to Georgina, whom we’ve known for a while.

💚Teddy has been here just over a week, he’s currently in rehabilitation following an injury a couple of months ago. Teddy belongs to Tash and Sharon.

Both have settled in well and it feels like they’ve been here forever.

Happy Bank Holiday everyone. It’s been a busy weekend. We’ve had viewings, enquiries, hay cutting and two liveries that went for a play at Yorkshire EC.

After 18 months almost to the day, we said goodbye to Caitlin and Mags yesterday. We wish you all the best at your new home. I’m going to miss this face greeting me on a morning and her talking to me to at last check 🥹

I’ve finally captured these two mutual grooming!

Both mares have strong personalities but the skewbald is the boss lady and in the 9ish years I’ve known her, I’ve never seen her groom her field mates. Recently, she has been grooming the gelding in the next field and a week ago, I thought I saw these two grooming but couldn’t be sure, now I’ve got the evidence. 🧡

Last week we started on what we called ‘cyclical decs’, when I worked in social housing.

We decided to go a block higher with the painting in the stables. 1 stable down, 9 to go.

I’ll finish the gates on that run of fencing next week when I’ve a couple of liveries on holiday cover.

As a small yard we are suited to those humans and horses wanting a quieter life, without the bustle of a large busy yard.

Due to opening times specified in our planning, we are not suited to those that compete on a regular basis.

No heavy horses, stallions or riggy geldings. We do not take liveries with more than two horses.

We have a rare opportunity at Ackworth RDA to have a share in a few of our horses/ponies. You get to ride the horses and treat them as your own when there not doing RDA lessons. They are all schoolmasters and very good at their jobs. They are suitable for leisurely hacking and light schooling and would suit small adults/teenagers wanting to get back in to riding after a break or wanting to enjoy quiet relaxing rides out. The ponies available at the moment aren’t suitable for young children.Your commitments would be poo picking, helping out with yard duties,fundraising events and helping in RDA lessons once a week, checking the horse over on your days, tack cleaning. In the winter you have 2 hay feed to do per week, where you give all the horses hay, check water and make sure they are all well. The cost is only £80 month. There are no hidden extra's as RDA pay for farrier, dentist, vets, wormers etc. You also get use of our 20mx40m all weather arena when lessons aren't on. You must have your own insurance which is covered by being a gold member of The British Horse Society.
You must have experience and knowledge, we will not be able to take on anyone that has 1or 2 lessons , you must be able to care for and ride the horse you share competently. We are looking for someone that can commit time and effort into these lovely ponies.

Aww this is so sad, my first childhood pony was a Sec B. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sec Cs were next. It seems Sec As and Ds are the most popular now.
