James Rushton - World Sight Day
ποΈ Today is #WorldSightDay and a fantastic opportunity to turn our eyes to the pets we've helped see clearly over the last three years.
Some 350 pets have undergone cataract surgery over that period, including beautiful 10-year-old Labradoodle Kobi. Sadly, diabetic Kobi needed to have one eye removed, but James Rushton, our Head of Ophthalmology, carried out cataract surgery to save the sight in his other eye.
You can see James at work in this fantastic video below! After a successful surgery, Kobi is now fully recovered and back home, embracing life with his sight back.
Kobi's owner, Nic Griffiths, said: "James was fantastic. He took time to talk to me and explained and reassured me Kobi would be OK. The way he spoke to Kobi was lovely, I could tell he would look after him. "It's been a long road to recovery but Kobi is back to his normal, cheeky self and it's so nice to have him back.
"We would absolutely recommend Paragon, the clinical staff are absolute experts in what they do and the office staff are so friendly and reassuring. We are so grateful we live in an area that has such a fabulous facility for pets and their owners."

π Today is #WorldCancerDay and a great opportunity for us to celebrate the huge advances made in veterinary oncology over the last two decades.
Where once there were very few options when a pet was diagnosed with cancer, we can now treat cancers and send many into remission.
This includes patients like eight-year-old Staffy Dexter, who was referred to us in September after being diagnosed with a mast cell tumour. After surgical removal, he completed his injectable chemotherapy course of eight treatments.
Dexter did amazingly well throughout, and was always happy to come to the practice where he loved having the treats and cuddles. He sailed through the experience with no side effects and his owner said you wouldn't have known he was having chemotherapy! He was signed off in January cancer-free...π₯³
