10/08/2023
Today (Thursday 10th August 2023), we have sadly had to make the decision to close our doors for the foreseeable future. We are unable to admit any new patients from the public or veterinary practices due to a lack of funding.
Our funds have hit an all time low with outstanding veterinary bills exceeding £4000. Our centre is still full of wildlife casualties, which remain our priority for the coming months. We need to use the remaining funds to ensure they are fed, medicated and provided with the care they need to be returned to the wild.
We don’t know what the future holds for Blyth Wildlife Rescue, but we continue to do all we can to try and source enough funds to keep us going.
John and Vicky have worked tirelessly alongside all of the volunteers for the past 17 years to give thousands of animals a second chance. We really want to be able to continue our vital work and provide a lifeline for those in need.
We have tried so very hard in months gone by to raise funds and reduce our charity's operations to buy us more time. Unfortunately, costs continue to far exceed incoming donations, so difficult decisions must be made.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our urgent appeal so far - the initial target of £20,000 has now climbed to £23,000 just to cover costs in the last month alone.
If you are able to make a donation towards our urgent rescue appeal, it would be greatly appreciated: https://gofund.me/a184822a.
