The WTOWA are saddened to here about the passing of Cathal Mckeever.
A Tug Of War man through and through who encouraged and inspired many people into the sport.
Our condolences to his family aswell as the Nitowa - Northern Ireland Tug of War Association and Ballyhegan Tug of War Club, we are very sorry for your loss.

Over the next few days the World Tug of War Championships are taking place in Mannheim, Germany.
Wales will be represented by Hay Tug Of War Club in the 600kg u23 and 640kg senior men.

The host countries of Germany, England, Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium give the tournament its name.

U 19 4x4 - Hay on Wye
Senior 4x4 - Shirenewton & Hay on Wye teams.

As an association we are very proud of all our teams. Not only what they have achieved, but the attitude and effort on the day and how they come together when it's required. Thank you to everyone involved 💪👏

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿British and Irish Championships in Melton Mowberry 10.06.2024🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Yesterday over 30 of our members, along with members from Shirenewton Tug of War Club Craswall Tug of War Club and Cupids Hill Tug of War Club represented Wales in the B&I championships.

A very successful and enjoyable day (and night!) was had by all. Our U23 men pulled in Men’s 600, Senior Ladies in 560 coming away with a very hard earned and deserving bronze, Bill and Shane joining Shirnewton for Men’s 680, U19 Men coming away with a Bronze and our U19 Ladies earning a silver medal! Two teams were also entered in both mixed comps with one of our U19s coming away with a Bronze. Fantastic day all round!

Thank you to The Tug of War Association - England for hosting, to all judges, officials and other teams.
