We are a separately registered charity to the National RSPCA. We cannot deal with welfare issues. We operate a No Destruct policy.

We have no Inspectors, only staff and volunteers to look after the animals in our care. If you have lost a pet please feel free to post on our page and also log on www.petslocated.com and our lost/found page www.rspcawirral.org.uk

We would like to say Huge thank you to Becky from The Dog House dog grooming in Wallasey who has managed to successfully groom some of our ex not so amenable older dogs when we had tried and failed.

These are mostly dogs that had come to us severely matted but need maintaining. Due to not being used to it they find the experience terrifying but thankfully Becky had a trick or 2 up her sleeve and managed even the most difficult dog.

Thankfully she specialises in ‘special’ dogs and made it look very easy! We are very thankful for her skill and expertise and for supporting us and doing it at a nominal cost.

Hi, I’m Bob! I am an independent little cat and play by my own rules.

We are looking for an experienced cat owner for Bob in an adult only home. Bob loves his own company but also loves attention. He spends a lot of time snuggled in his bed and sitting outside in the breeze.. he would love a big garden!

Since being here Bob has come out in so many different ways!... showing us how much he loves to play and be a cheeky boy, as you can tell from his pictures.

Bob loves company, and will climb onto your knee at any given chance. He’s a greedy little monkey and loves his food and treats.

Flower and Pansy are so loveable...they will often be found lying around chilling.

They are both very affectionate and love being around people. They welcome you with meows and head bumps. They enjoy searching for their treats and will chat away to you while you are playing with them.

She was taken to New Hope Vets in New Brighton who very kindly dematted her and checked her over.

She does need some further treatment but is now in our care and under our vet.

This is BOB! In training for the cat bell ringing championships!

Bob came into our care last year after his owner, in a nursing home passed away and he was a little temperamental with the other residents. We found him a lovely new home where he settled in with no issues, until he had a run in with another cat a couple of months ago where he had a nasty cat bite. He then reverted to type and became frightened and untrusting once again so was returned to us.

He is a great cat, with a larger than life personality, but does need an experienced home where his owners can read him a little, and give him some space and patience when he's feeling a little uneasy. He has a great character and is very affectionate and loving.

Please, no negative comments towards his previous owner, he was just a bit too much cat.

Happy Valentines Day from all our “couples” 🥰

Since coming to us nearly 3 weeks ago and fears he would not make it with severe flea anaemia, Candy has gone from strength to strength and his weight has doubled from 320g to 640g. We paired him with another kitten who wasn’t doing so well with bigger siblings bullying her and they are both now in an experienced foster home and both doing great. Think it’s fair to say to love each other. Sorry no rehoming enquiries just yet.

Will someone tell this kitten it’s 4 in the morning and not playtime! Good job he’s so cute 😻

Our Story

We are a separate branch of the RSPCA and as such are reliant on the generosity of the public to keep our very busy branch going, helping local animals in the Wirral and Chester areas. We deal mostly with cats and last year in 2017 we rehomed almost 950 cats and for every cat we rehome there are many others waiting for our help. We can only continue helping these animals with your support.

Or call in. We normally house over 100 cats and that is a lot of cat pouches so we are always grateful of cat food donations as well as blankets and towels (sorry we can’t take duvets and sheets)

We also have a charity shop based in our Animal Centre, and are always looking for good quality household goods to sell. (We can’t accept larger items as we don’t have space).
