The team will be there running a Dogstable Course and everyone’s favourite Tombola 😁

All the funds raised on the day will go towards the dogs in our care and our very large veterinary bill!

UPDATE 16-08-24
Jasmine has had a really good night and is eating much better than before her surgery.

We are taking 1 step at a time with this beauty but this is really positive and our hopes are up for her recovery, although the journey will be long, we will give her everything we have and she deserves ♥️

Today was the day for our beautiful Jasmine as she was finally well enough to under go her much needed dental surgery.

Jasmine was found as a stray in July and we very nearly lost her due to her appalling condition however, being likely dumped when she was, in fact saved her life.

Today Jasmine had to have over 20 teeth removed due to the dental disease that had ravaged her mouth due to the lack of any form of care previously.

Our amazing vets at Lakeview Veterinary Centre were removing her left K9, when they shockingly discovered that the infection had eaten its way right up through to her nasal cavity. We can’t even begin to imagine the pain that this poor girl has been in 😢

She isn’t out of the woods yet, and has a long veterinary road for her recovery but we have all fingers and paws crossed that her mouth heals well.

🚨Warning, puppy update 🚨

Just like that we have hit 6 weeks!

They are mischievous little monkeys who are now getting into everything when out and about. They now spend time in the garden and there’s lots of playtime with the resident dogs who are helping them along their way with social and play skills 🥰

They have not been affected to much by the heat, as we are keeping them cool with fans, fresh air and water between feeds.

🚨WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGES🚨

This morning Merry was admitted to our wonderful vets Lakeview Veterinary Centre for her extensive surgery.

We had already decided to X-ray her prior to surgery, and we were truly saddened to find that her mammary tumors had already spread to her chest (we were hopeful that wouldn’t be the case).

After a serious discussion with our vet we decided together the best course of action for beautiful Merry, so we decided not to put her through the extensive spay and mammary tumours removal. We did however, continue with her eye surgery for Entropion, which in itself was extensive as both lids on one eye had turned in, 360 degrees.

What’s next for Merry…

Luckily Merry was already safe in a wonderful foster home, who have offered their home and hearts to Merry and they immediately offered her the palliative care that she requires, which will be fully funded and supported by CPR for however long she has left.

Although Merry’s time with us maybe be shorter than expected, it will be filled with good food, lots of cuddles, walks and love, something she was woefully missing, wherever it was she was kept previously. Poor Merry, at just 9 years old, is on palliative care because of the total lack of basic care and veterinary treatment that could have prevented this fate for her. We promise to make every single day of the rest of her life comfortable and joyful.

It’s that time of the week folks…Puppies!

Today they hit 5 weeks old, we can’t believe how the time is flying! Dotty, Mimi, Rolo and Zac are truly turning into thier own little characters. Thank you to the winners of our Puppy Naming Competion 🙌

They started their weaning journey last week, and now have play time out with the resident dogs (Cavapoo Dora, Daxie Pepper and goofy Labrador Teddy)

Their confidence is coming on leaps and bounds, they are all happy to bite and pull 34kg Teddy around (he loves it by the way). They truly are getting the best socialised start 🥰

We’d like to send some special CPR birthday wishes to gorgeous Georgie who celebrated his 17th birthday yesterday 🥳

Georgie was 11 years old and totally blind when he came into our care 5 years ago, he was adopted by his lovely mum where he has lived his best life ever since. Not only that but his mum has continued to support our efforts with a monthly donation since his adoption, for which we are extremely grateful 🙏

On Thursday we welcomed Merry, to the CPR family.

Merry was found straying and after serving her 7 statutory days, came into us from Swale Borough Council Stray Dog Service.

Merry looks just like Mona that came to us last year and sadly passed away early this year. Merry was found in the same area and we believe they could be related.

Merry has been booked in for major surgery next week to fix Entropia on both her top and bottom lashes (this is something she was likely born with and has caused irreversible damage to her eye), she will also need multiple mammary lumps removed that are causing her issues.

Merry has settled into foster like a duck to water, she will likely be with us for sometime before she will be ready for her forever home.

As the puppies head into thier 4th week of life, they all have a name 🥰

They are now up and definitely on the move, and today made a slow start on thier weaning journey……

They continue to thrive and each has a very definite personality shining through ♥️🐾

*Jasmine update*
New intake Jasmine (see original post below) is a very poorly girl at the moment, along with her rotten teeth she is very thin and also suffering from an upper respiratory infection. She is spending her second day with our marvellous vets having intravenous antibiotics and fluids. Currently she is not well enough to have the dental surgery she so desperately needs, but we know that you will all be rooting for her 🙏

*Foster Appeal* Please share 🙏

Although we don’t currently have any spare rescue space, we just couldn’t say no to this poor neglected Spaniel, Merry, who was found in a severely poor condition and has obviously been suffering with entropion amongst other issues, for a very long time. Her markings are so very similar to Mona’s (a Spaniel in a very similar state of neglect who received palliative care with us until passing away recently), that we wonder if they are related - see image in comments.

Although we know we will need to organise a fundraiser for Merry soon, firstly we need to appeal for a calm local foster home who can, with our full support, help Merry through her veterinary care so she can begin a new pain free life in a comfortable temporary home. 🌟 Update 24th July 🌟

We've been incredibly luckily to secure Merry a rescue space with our old friends at Cinque Ports Rescue.

They're the team that took Ramona, another Spaniel found in equally poor condition. She flourished under their care and we know Merry will do the same.

We wouldn't typically release this information so early, but she needs additional medical care that we're unable provide.

We'll still be fulfilling our legal obligation of the 7 day hold with Merry remaining under the remit of the council until her statutory time has elapsed.

Please give a gentle welcome to Merry, a female Cocker Spaniel found straying around Russell Street, Sheerness on 20th July.

She's chipped, but the details haven't been kept up date.

Unfortunately, she's not in the best condition. She has entropion in her right eye, nodes in her mammaries leaking discoloured fluid and cystitis.

She's now receiving a cocktail of antibiotics and eye drops to keep her comfortable, but she will require surgery down the line.

Due to failures under The Animal Welfare Act 2006, any owner wishing to come forward must be able to provide evidence that she's been stolen, is long-term missing, or is already receiving veterinary care.

🐾 Please give a gentle welcome to Miss Jasmine 🐾

Jasmine has served her 7 statutory days with Medway Council Stray Dog Service, they contacted CPR and we were happy to help.

We are incredibly busy and full to the seams but will always help where we can.

Jasmine isn’t in the best condition and her teeth are horrific so she urgently needs a full dental, as you can see in the images. This will be just the start of her veterinary journey.

Today the little fluff balls are 3 weeks old, we are totally in love here at HQ. They all have opened their eyes and are walking around, like little drunken sailors 🥰

Please give a warm CPR welcome to the gorgeous Charlie.

This lovely lad was surrendered by his family as they were no longer able to meet his needs. They reached out for assistance and CPR were happy to help.

Charlie has settled into his foster home beautifully and proving to be a wonderful house guest.

He is currently under assessment, during which he will be undergoing his routine veterinary treatment.

Charlie is not currently available for adoption and, due to the rescues current commitments, any application forms submitted will not be responded to at this time.

We can’t believe it but Mimi’s puppies are 1 week old today!

The puppies are absolutely thriving and steadily putting on weight 🥰, almost doubling their birth weights!

Mimi has proven a smashing mum, although as a young dog she is seeking a lot of reassurance from her foster mum when she needs to, something we are more than happy to provide ❤️

Today Lady went off to live with her new family, who are up for the challenge of training, building her confidence and social skills.

Lady was settled straight away at the meeting and as you can see made instant friends with the whole family.
