(For educational purposes I'm not judging any of my clients as it's easily done if you arnt using the correct technique:) Just a gentle reminder to make sure we are brushing our dog's coat from the root. I have a lot of owners come to me upset that their dog has been previously shaved down by the last groomer because they have been matted but insist they have been brushing the coat every day. I appreciate these efforts, but only the top of the coat is being brushed, making it seem as if the hair is fluffy and knot-free. However, the undercoat is left matted, making it impossible for me to demat the dog all over. This will result in me having to go short, as none of my longer blades will go through the coat, and it would be too unfair/painful for the dog to sit through being dematted. By using the simple technique of 'line brushing, this will ensure you are getting to the base of the coat to prevent any matting or knots. Always make sure you go over the brushing with a comb to check your work and to catch those tiny knots. If you have any questions feel free to message me 🥰
