❤️🐾IN LOVING MEMORY OF BOBBIE 🐾❤️

Bobbie was a regular visitor to us at the Arboretum & also at our previous practice in Darlaston
Over the years we treated Bobbie and he & his mom became quite the regulars.
His mom sent in a beautiful tribute she has recently had done as a tattoo and we couldn’t help but share as it is so beautiful 😻
Thank you to Bobbies mom for the beautiful photos and letting us share them - we know Bobbie will be watching over his mommy forever and we will always remember him ❤️

BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) is the name given to breathing problems caused by dogs having flat faces.

BOAS commonly affects flat-faced breeds including:
English Bulldogs
French Bulldogs
Pugs
Boxers
Shih Tzus

The symptoms of BOAS can appear in puppies but sometimes don’t start until dogs are two–four years old.

Symptoms include:
Noisy breathing (including snuffles)
Snoring
Difficulty breathing
Disrupted sleep
Excessive panting, even when resting
Unable or unwilling to exercise
Struggling in hot weather (flat-faced dogs are more prone to heatstroke)
Difficulty eating
Regurgitation or vomiting

Your dog might benefit from surgery to correct some of the problems causing their breathing difficulties. This includes widening their nostrils and shortening their soft palate. Surgery should be done earlier rather than later for the best chance at a good outcome ideally 12-18 months of age. There are a number of risks associated with surgery, however, the surgery is likely to dramatically improve your dog’s quality of life.

In the Picture of Hugo you can see the difference in his nostril size, he also had his soft pallet shortened and is now living a much happier life.

WS1 AREA - Chuckery

Fern belongs to one of our Vet nurses here at the Arboretum

She has now been missing for 7 weeks
The last day she was seen was 01/06/24

Fern is now due her medication which is vital to her health & wellbeing ❗️

Fern is neutered & chipped (details are correct)
She is a much loved family member and is dearly missed ❤️

The family have offered a reward for Ferns return. She can be surrendered to any local vets - with no questions asked!

Please continue to share & keep a look out for Fern

Her family are desperate to have her back especially due to the medication & medical needs she has we really have to find her and get her home to her other fury brothers and sisters who miss her very much
