As we settle down with our super kennels the boss decided to post a few of the races he didn't blog about (and some he did) that he really liked.

After a spell of Dave doing double time as a builder/chippy and greyhound trainer, he's back to the blog.
Its been a pretty quiet month or so on the track with the Derby monopolising action at Towcester, so it was a good time to take the kennel step and make it posh.
We've nonetheless had a few really good winners with the videos and Dave's blog which can be seen on

A week of low numbers mainly because Towcester has now switched to 2 Saturday meetings from the Friday one so false figures as this Saturday we have 21 runners over the 2 meetings which will show up in next weeks blog. This has worked in well with our kennel renovations that will all contribute to happy dogs and a nice environment. We still have the Derby which will affect runners over the next period, but we're hoping that Oxford will be going by then so the Derby effects will be softened for us.

Figures of 20 runners and 4 winners gives us a very good percentage at 20% for the week. Dogs continue to be in good form. Unfortunately Towcester have an unusual situation in greyhound racing these days where they have too many dogs, especially with the Derby looming. This is a temporary situation as it will turn around with the opening of Oxford which is scheduled for June time.
In the meantime our good kennel form continues which we are pleased to report.

A heavy maintenance program at the kennels has delayed things. On the track a great week for the kennels with 7 winners from 23 runners and furthermore we only contested in 13 races due to doubles and trebles. So 7 winners from 13 races is great figures and a testament to the teams hard work.

This week showed another steeady week back to form. Five good wins and more good runs in defeat leaves us feeling a little optimistic. This week some work begins at the kennels, so we have more time than usual occupied by this new project.
Good wins this week for our owners Martin Hagan, Deanna Williams and Paul Spittle.
With summer coming on the dogs form looks like we will be in for a good time!

This week we had good news with the number of runners, getting 33 in total with nearly half the runners finishing in the first two. We're knocking on the door, and getting louder!
A couple of good videos for our winners. Loving the way they're running at the moment. Footfield Paul who has been doing a star job lately represented the spirit we want to see, charging from last in a decent A3 field right the way through it to just fail to pick up the win. It was probably his best run yet, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for more.

A decent week with the regulation number of winners - four from 24 or 1 in 6 meaning we've come in again "on the numbers" showing that we are consolidating well.
The summer is looking rosy with the dogs we've been flagging up here trialing on well. With the youngsters we won't be pushing them, but expect good things from them as they find their feet on the track.
Other news is that our own Jayne Conway is standing for election as owners rep of the GBGB. Jayne could probably be rep for nearly anything in greyhound racing as she believes in the right thing to do as her biggest priority which is reflected in her constant time and dedication to the sport. She gets all our votes. A new member of the team started this week in a full time capacity . Kerri has experience and knowledge to bring to the party and will be a big asset to the kennel and probably the icing on the cake to a great team of staff I have . And with Oxford imminent and the kennel dual tracking it comes at a perfect time.
Here's Bubba's run for another win - he's won three out of his last four races. More on the boss's blog on

25 runners for the week so run figures down slightly for various reasons. The good news is that winners have increased with 4 for the week which is a big improvement from last week. This shows shows things are settling down and going a little more our way. Check out the videos to see some good runs.

A week notable for niggles and near misses as we hit the first day of spring! All the gossip is at Dave's blog on this link.
We're all up to date after a good kennel inspection. Happy that the GBGB is pleased with what we are doing.

Figures for the week dramatically reduced because of van troubles but 4 winners from 21 runners indicates the kennel is in decent form. Sporting Dynasty came back to winning ways which was good to see. We're happy to say that winning ways is becoming a habit for Footfield Daisy Owned by Mr. Martin Hagan with her third win on the trot .
Trials were also reduced due to hare problems on Tuesday night, which has put back Stella’s Maze and Nanny’s final trials. The 2 big Avion boys had their first go out the boxes for months and both came off 💯 sound so onward and upward for them.
We have 13 runners this coming Saturday (tomorrow) so its the start of getting our numbers back up for the week ahead. Soon likely to be 40 on the card so busy period is coming

Sometimes we lose sight of the important things about racing. The fact is that running well, happy and healthy dogs are our priority, so bear in mind that if we don't obsess about wins its not that we con't care - in fact quite the opposite. We know that in the long term a good process (of training) will lead to results in a totally clean way. We're not a gambling kennel by any means, so we always want to train as well as possible so that our dogs will always give of their best!
A much improved week in terms of figures with 28 runners and 5 winners to show for the great kennel efforts. You have to bear in mind that anything better than a one in six ratio at Towcester is excellent stuff as the level of trainers at the track are absolutely the Premiership Division of racing. We still had the majority of our team running well, with little to choose between our team and the winners. Hopefully that's going to lead to some good winning ratios in the summer season.
With 34 on the strength, 28 runners is not a bad number to field in a week. I think we would expect the numbers to go up soon as trainers commit fully to Suffolk Downs. Oxford too is lying in wait, now due to open in May, and we will undoubtedly have some runners there.
Here's the run of the week from Luna, looking like a real class girl in the making!
