πWishing all you lovely clients of Vale Hydrotherapy a very happy Christmas and a healthy and fun 2024. The centre will re-open on Tuesday 2nd January.
πThis time last year, I had no idea that 2023 would be my toughest year to date but with your support and kindness, both professionally and personally, it has made it far more bearable. Stanley and Douglas are still sorely missed, as such valued members of my family and work team but little Harry is doing a grand job and I love that you have all enjoyed his company.
πHuge gratitude to those of you who have had to find alternative and longer routes to make it to your appointments, due to the road being under water for several weeks now. I have no idea when it will be resolved but I will keep you updated as and when I have more information.
πWe look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year πππ
Many of you will remember Barney, the lovely black Labrador I fostered from the Labrador Lifeline Trust for almost 3 years before he was adopted by Leanne, our resident physiotherapist. You helped me raise a lot of money in various ways, including the production of a beautiful calendar, to pay for his numerous operations and vet fees during his time with me π
Very sadly, Barney was put to sleep earlier this week, after a short illness that his body just couldn't fight any longer. Leanne, her family and I are feeling pretty heartbroken by his passing but I know we also feel enormous gratitude for the part he played in our lives and I feel honoured to have played a small part in his. π
Barney taught me to have more patience, he had absolutely none and I had to have more to compensate! He also taught me to find more joy in times of stress by instigating play and games at the most inappropriate times! π
All Barney wanted was company, to feel included (in everything!) affection and to swim. That boy loved the water. I remember taking him to the beach for his first time. He was totally overwhelmed by the expanse of water and the noise of the waves, but once he'd plucked up the courage to go in the sea, he refused to get out without a battle. He learnt to stand just out of reach and would do this in the sea, rivers and lakes, much to the annoyance of many fisherman! I have so many memories of our times together π
Barney Rubble, it has been a pleasure, rest easy my darling boy. πππ
