We are looking for an extra special home for our two Chorkies, Kandi and Twiglet. Sadly, their Mum passed away and they need a home of their own.

Twiglet is 11.5 years old and is neutered. He has a slightly recessed jaw and bowed legs that cause no problems. And then we have Kandi, she's 12.5 years old. She is spayed and has no health issues. We want them to be homed together and ideally be the only dogs. We don't know what they are like with cats but we can check. Both still enjoy a walk and would sort a retired person or couple. Older children 8 plus only. A donation of £150 is required as is a full homecheck. They will only be homed in a 25 mile radius of Bishop's Stortford. Cute Teddy is just the sweetest lady who is good with people, children (aged 10+) and other dogs. She's quite energetic, enjoys her walks and likes to play, all of which help to regain her perfect waistline. Teddy would be a lovely companion.

𝙐𝙥𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚: 𝘼𝙙𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙙!

Everyone, meet Teddy. 🥰

She is the sweetest little thing. Although she needs to lose a few pounds. ⚖

Teddy is 9yrs old, good with kids and is good with her foster mum's dogs. Ideally, we think Teddy could be homed with an active, retired couple/person or with children aged 10+ (so they understand that although she is energetic and quite lively, she does have limits) and preferably with another dog for company as she likes to have a play. She has been walking well off the lead in a pack (recall is helped by her love of food)!

Teddy's previous owner can no longer care for her due to ill health, which is really sad for them both. 💔 Teddy used to bark at her owner for attention and did try that with her foster mum, but is learning that it doesn't get her anywhere. Keeping her well walked and exercised is also helping to lessen this behaviour. Teddy has had a check up at the vet and is a healthy girl who needs to lose some pounds. She has Addisons disease, but it is stable with a daily steriod tablet and a monthly injection.

Are you an active retired home or a family with older children who can take her for a good walk everyday and help her to lose weight and keep it off? Do you have a Teddy shaped space on your sofa and in your heart?

I have been really lucky to have had the chance to foster Maya, she can be a little shy when going to touch her but as soon as she getsto know you, she loves to have her belly rubbed. Although 8yo she loves walks across the fields and to have a run. She can be reactive to dogs’ she doesn’t know when in her personal space but is very food orientated and soon changes when a treat is on offer. She is house trained, has good recall once she has settled in and bonded with you, will sit and lay down. Loves to have cuddles on the sofa and sleep on the bed with you. I think Maya would prefer to be the only dog so that all the attention can be given to her, she certainly deserves it. If not then she would definitely prefer a dog nearer her own size. With the amount of training, she already has, I think she would be great as a first every dog. Please give Maya the chance she deserves. I will certainly miss her.

Nerone is once again in need of a home or foster home. His retirement in Belgium has fallen through. 😭

This beautiful old gentleman is looking for a quiet home where he can see out his life in a comfortable bed, with a full tummy and a garden to sleep in.

He was saved from a kill shelter after being held there for 4 years. Four years of hell and he is lucky to be alive.

Nerone is thought to be around 12 years old. He is a calm and gentle boy who loves human attention, despite all he has lived through. He loves the attention of the volunteers at Negris Place and is quite attached to them. He is roughly the size of a labrador but not as strong.

RBU will be provided by The Little Rescue. Adoption fee and home check are required. Due to Nerone's advanced age we are looking for an adult only home with someone around most of the day to love him. Nerone has most likely not lived in a house before, so will need toilet training and lead training if he is to go on a short walk. We have found that adult dogs learn house training very quickly.

If you have a Nerone-shaped space in your heart, please drop us a message. Nerone is currently in Romania but with a foster offer or home secured, we can bring him ASAP.

TLR have been asked to help two special Chorkies find a new home as their Mum sadly passed away. They cannot stay much longer in their current temporary home. First is darling TWIGLET (running in first pic and pic underneath) who is 11.5, neutered. He has a slightly recessed jaw and bowed legs that cause no problems at all. Second, we have scrumptious KANDI, she's 12.5 years old. She is spayed and has no health issues. Kandi and her brother are not bonded so can be homed separately, however they will need to be the only dog as they don't like other dogs. Not known about cats but we can check. Both still enjoy a walk and would sort a retired person or couple. Older children 8 plus only. There will be a donation per dog required of £75. Full homecheck. ADOPTED!! We have been asked to tell you about this gorgeous cuddle monster GEORGE. This lovely collie cross boy is 6 years old, around 25kg and from Romania. He IS IN THE UK at a fabulous foster home. He is calm and friendly and good with other dogs. He is lead and harness trained but not particularly fussed about going out for a walk as he likes to potter around the garden or snooze by the fire. He is described as a pipe and slippers man! 😂The Fosterer will be RBU for George and adoption contract will be with her. The adoption fee is £250 and will go towards spay and neutering in Romania. Please contact us if you can offer him a forever home or know someone who can for further information and chat with his foster mum. Thank you 😊

In all the years in rescue, never have we been as horrified, sickened and heart broken as we have been over the last few days. This atrocity happened in Wales to the amazing beautiful Lost Souls Sanctuary, known personally to us where a beautiful, timid, affectionate Romanian dog called Audrey (later renamed Annie) was one of the ELEVEN dogs brutally killed. We are satisfied that Lost Souls are completely innocent and they have been victims of a huge miscarriage of justice and a vicious target of the group mentioned below. We stand with them now to raise funds for the court case. We will also post various emails you can write to regarding information on the whereabouts of the dogs that have been so cruelly taken away. Please help, any amount to get justice for the murdered dogs and for Annie Lewis at Lost Souls. Please check Lost Souls Sanctuary page for more information. Thank you

The handsome Rufus is looking for a new home. His owners have tried to make things work between him and their other dogs, including working with our own recommended trainer, Tami Mason, for almost a year. She reports that all avenues have been explored and this has been an extremely difficult decision for his owners.

Ideally, Rufus needs to be an only dog (though potentially an older dog who can cope with his energy could work). No young children as he is very jumpy/scratchy/mouthy. (8+)

Rufus can't cope in his current situation living with the two other dogs - the home has had to be separated so he's not with them at all. This has lead to a bit of separation anxiety, though Tami is confident this could be sorted fairly easily.

Most of his issues are related to his current situation:-

He is dog reactive out on a walk, but it's from frustration rather than an aggression - Tami has had him out with other dogs and he's been fine.

Rufus is currently on fluoxitine to help with his anxiety. He recently had a holiday with his owners, but minus the other two family dogs, and he was reportedly a 'different dog'. Relaxed and happy.

Please meet Jim. Sadly, he is up for rehoming. Jim came to The Little Rescue three years ago as a dog reactive dog. He is still a dog reactive dog with dogs he does not know. Having said that, he is a very loving boy with his people. He will bark at visitors to the home to start with, but once he has met them he stops. He has never been aggressive with a person. He does occasionally guard items (dead things he might find in the garden, for example) and therefore we are asking for a home with NO under 8s. Jim is good with the family cat.

Jim's current family are fortunate enough to have a large outdoor area for exercising him, but that means he is no longer used to walking outside on a lead and meeting strange dogs on a regular basis. This is something that will have to be addressed in his future home.

Jim will be 6 years old this year. He is currently in the CO16 area but we will home him within Hertfordshire (usually no more than 20 miles from Bishops Stortford, but we would make an exception for the right home).
