In the past we always recommended raising the food bowl to lower the risk of bloat. Studies show this can be detrimental and in fact potentially increase the risk!

The only reason you may need to raise a food bowl to elbow height is if your dog has neck/back pain. Or it is raised to nose height if they have a condition such as megaoesophagus.

Someone at a garden centre last week accidentally dropped a snow globe. I was in like a shot, feeling like a bit of a pain in the bum, but said “please wash that down, dogs coming in here will enjoy licking that and it’s toxic”. Just wanted to raise awareness! Be careful, these contain anti-freeze 😬

To those of you who walk in hendford marsh area...warning about letting your dogs in the water.
There is Kerasene leaching into the River at Henford Marsh. The Environment Agency are monitoring and have put a b**g across at the worst point but struggling to find the source at the moment! It's running downstream from there.

POST UPDATE.
THERE ARE A LOT OF ENQUIRES THAT WE DONT HAVE TIME TO PROCESS SO HE WILL GO TO ONE OF OUR LONG-STANDING FOSTERS FOR MORE ASSESSMENT TO HELP US GET HIM INTO THE RIGHT HOME.

Very urgent move needed for this 2 yr old friendly little Frenchie. He’s been moved a lot but it’s circumstances and nothing he’s done. High energy, recently neutered and now looking for stable loving home..
Swindon area and needs to move by end of this coming weekend.

PAWS are looking for someone to join our friendly team on a part time basis. The role will include dog walking and home visits to dogs.
We are looking for help on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during term time only and during the hours of 10-3pm (exact requirements to be discussed as there is a little flexibility within that). No specific qualifications are needed but experience around dogs is obviously useful and you must be confident around all breeds. Applicants must be over 25yrs in order to drive our vans.
