I got to meet Teddy today. He loves to get outside and explore, but to the point that he weaves, pulls and scents everywhere, with no respect for his walker.
Well, today that changed. Teddy now understands that on the public footpath we walk a certain way, with structure and discipline. But when we get to the park or field Teddy can do what we wants.
If your dog pulls on the lead, get in touch with me today.
Another life changing result from last week.
I was sent a video of Lily walking on her Halti, and I immediately changed my plans to see Lily as soon as I could.
Many 'force free' trainers recommend the Halti, The Gentle Leader or the Figure of 8 lead to walk a difficult dog, but in my experience these leads add discomfort to the dog and increase the dogs stress and anxiety levels.
Just watch this 47 second clip to see the incredible difference in body language from Lily. Who by the way, is 8 years old. It's always possible to teach old dogs new tricks.
Another transformation from this week, another Bear!
If your dog walks with absolutely no regard for you, pulls, barks, weaves from side to side, sniffs, scents and lunges, then get in touch.
When you are on a public footpath, you are responsible for your safety, your dog's safety and the safety of others.
I don't expect dogs to walk perfectly all the time, only on the way to were we are going. When we get to were we are going our dogs should be allowed to do what they want, on a 50 metre lead.
Today's transformation was with the gorgeous Teddy, a Cavapoo that used to bark and pull like mad on the lead, not anymore!
Before and After.
This morning's session was with Narco. A very typical Frenchie!
This is his before and after on the lead.
I met Teddy and Anna this morning. Being a Springer is hard work! All they want to do is sniff and smell, but that makes for a tough walk for us.
However, Springer's are also incredibly intelligent and literally within 20 minutes Teddy was able to work out that he needed to look to his owner for leadership and guidance on the public footpath. On the park, he can do what he wants, put on the footpath he must walk with us.
Sometimes, given the choice all our dogs want to do is smell, sniff and mooch.
Sniffing is your dog’s way of making sense of the world around them - and it provides lots of mental stimulation, which can help keep their brain healthy as well as their body.
That's a YES from Henry for the PowerBall Bungee!
Think Tessa enjoyed the wet grass!
This little man has never ending energy!
No birds were harmed in the making of this video!
Arnie gets a bit excited to go on his walk!
Another loose lead session, where more people in the family can now enjoy walking Yeyo!
Some proper mental and physical stimulation for Henry.
