NAT'S NAN KNITS PATIENT WARMERS

We put these little booties on our patients paws to help maintain their body temperature and prevent hypothermia whilst patients are under general aesthetic, so Nat's Nan has kindly knitted a couple of pairs for us ๐Ÿฅฐ

"Outstanding Care for Our Beloved Holly. We cannot thank Victoria Park Vets enough for the exceptional care they provided to our 14-year-old dog, Holly. She recently underwent surgery to remove a lump and eight teeth, and from start to finish, the team was incredibly considerate, professional, and compassionate. After some disappointing experiences with a previous vet, it was truly a privilege to bring Holly to Victoria Park Vets, where she was treated with such kindness and expertise. The team took the time to reassure us, explaining everything thoroughly, and we felt completely confident that Holly was in the best hands. Their dedication and genuine love for animals were evident in every interaction. Holly has recovered beautifully, and we are so grateful for the outstanding care she received. PREPARE YOUR PETS FOR BONFIRE NIGHT Pet safety tips for 5th November ๐Ÿ’ฅ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ž ๐ฐ๐š๐ฅ๐ค๐ฌ: Avoid times when fireworks are most likely to be set off ๐‹๐ž๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ ๐ก๐ข๐๐ž: Provide a den or safe comfortable space for them to hide ๐๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ซ๐š๐๐ข๐จ ๐จ๐ง: Drown out the sound of the loud bangs with some music ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ฒ ๐œ๐š๐ฅ๐ฆ: Pets can sense your mood so try to stay calm ๐Š๐ž๐ž๐ฉ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž: Keep cat flaps and doors closed. HEDGEHOG SAFETY ๐Ÿฆ” During Firework Season Hedgehogs are looking for somewhere to hibernate this time of year, so piles of branches, leaves and logs look very attractive to them. Please make sure to check your bonfire pile before lighting it, as sleeping hedgehogs could be nesting in your firewood. If you find a Hedgehog in your bonfire and they don't appear to be injured, pop on a pair of gloves and get a thick towel so you can move them somewhere safe. Preferably in a bush so they can escape from the area. If you have any Hedgehog related concerns, you can give us a call on 01925 977 622

WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS... (But we can't tell you yet, sorry!) ๐Ÿค We can however tell you that we have TWO new vets joining our team in the autumn. That means we will be able to offer our services to even more pet owners in the area! So, we'll have to keep our big, exciting plans a secret for now, but we hope to share them with you very soon ๐Ÿ˜˜

WEATHER WARNINGS โ˜€๏ธ SIGNS OF HEATSTROKE & HOW TO ACT With the hot weather continuing throughout the week, we wanted to highlight the importance of keeping your pets cool in the summer months. SIGNS OF HEAT STROKE: Panting heavily | Dribbling | Wobbling | Bright red gums | Vomiting | Frothing at the mouth | Hot to touch HOW TO ACT: If your pet experiences any of these symptoms, it is important to contact our Vets IMMEDIATELY on 01925 977 622. In the meantime, you need to start cooling your pets SAFELY! NEVER USE COLD WATER OR ICE - This could cause shock. Put them on top of a wet towel to start cooling them. Pour room temp water on their paws and the outside of the ears, then slowly on the whole body and use a fan or air-conditioning to cool the air around them. Give them cool (not freezing cold) water to drink. Move your pet into a cool space that is out of direct sunlight. Transport your pet in an air-conditioned vehicle and continue cooling them on the journey to the practice. If you have any worries or concerns, just give us a call on 01925 977 622 and speak to a member of our team.
