Positive Dog training and Behaviour Welcome to The Pawsitive Coach.

My name is Andrea, the owner of The Pawsitive Coach. I have always loved animals, specially dogs. Growing up we had mainly boxers and rescue dogs, nowadays we have Eli, our 2 year old amazing Borador (collie-lab cross). I am passionate about canine behaviour, and I'm a certified dog trainer from Victoria Stilwell Academy (VSA-CDT). I also have studies in Introduction and Intermediate Canine Psycho

logy in Animal Care College and I'm certified in Level 3 Award of Canine Emergency First Aid. I believe understanding dogs comes with constant learning, so I'm currently coursing Advance Canine Psychology in Animal Care College. My training methods are based on positive reinforcement, avoiding fear based techniques, and putting the focus on teaching the dog wanted behaviours. My aim is to empower owners through positive training practices, helping them to achieve "WOW moments" of training and understanding with their dogs. I work on giving owners the tools to improve the communication between them and their dog, strengthen the bond, and help build a relationship based on trust and guidance. A dog that has a good communication with his owner is less likely to perform problem behaviours, and more likely to listen.... Let's get started!

He wasn't that sure about me or the training the first day I meet him, but through the weeks he gain confidence and life skills, and a new friend in me 🥰

Beautiful pictures of my puppy client Oscar on his first visit to the beach 🤩 Using some easy but essential training tools like a long leash and a mat can make a big difference when we train our dogs.
✔ The long leash is ideal when training recall as it gives the dog freedom and choice, but prevents the unwanted behaviour of running away from happening.
✔ The mat gives the dog comfort while outdoors and it can be easy related with the settle behavior we trained (with a mat) at home.

My friend Hugo has finished today his Puppy Foundation Training! 👏
He learned lots of new behaviors to communicate better with his owners and even some skills that will help him outdoors whenever he feels overwhelmed 👊

One of the nice things about training one to one on your own home is that the dog can train at his own pace, and we can work on some specific techniques to help owner and dog with whatever worries you the most 🙌

It was really nice to see him every week and have the happiest welcome each time 🥰

Training should be fun and enjoyable for the dog, so remember to work at the dog's pace and be prepared to change plans if the dog is not listening or showing signs of frustration 🙌

Dachshunds inherit a natural digging behaviour that sometimes can be used as an energy outlet when anxious, destroying beds and other objects…. my little friend’s case. We decided to give him his own digging pool, to allow him to perform this natural behaviour in a controlled way and burn some energy in the process. He loves it! 🙌🤩 Well done for his owners for putting it in place 💪
