We realised when we wanted to kennel our own dogs several years ago, a whippet x lurcher and an ex racing greyhound, that most kennel facilities don't cater for the needs of such special breeds. That's when we set up Home from Home Hounds. ry lurcher aka Yeti, we know their traits, their loves and their amazing and special quirks. They are the most amazing dogs. At Home from Home Hounds your hound lives with us in our home. If your sighthound spends all day on the sofa, they can stay all day on the sofa with us, if they sleep on your bed, they can sleep on our bed. We cater for short break stays and longer stays. We are based in Warrington, Cheshire. You can visit us in our home before home boarding your dog, meet us and our hounds. Contact us for more details and rates. We can't wait to meet your hound.

This beautiful boy is having his holiday with us. He has had his eyes removed due to glaucoma. He does so well and navigates his way around by smell and sound and the odd bump into things. He's bopped his nose on the whirly in the garden a couple of times but now knows it's there. We need to be his eyes. Dogs never fail to amaze me, they are so resilient. I need to take strength and courage from this boy.

Just a heads up. We're getting full for February and August next year. If you have dates in mind for 2025 we can pencil them in. We have been so busy this year I don't want people to feel let down if we can't have your houndies to stay. We've had to say we're full to so many people this year. If only our house was bigger so more dogs can stay. Having said that there's only so many dogs we can get in bed with us, especially those pesky burrowing whippets!

We had the privilege of homeboarding the two most beautiful greyhounds for the last 5 weeks. I shed a tear when they left, they were so part of our lives and just slotted right in to our routine. We received a fabulous card and lovely gifts when they were collected. Still missing them.

Very sad to learn that one of our beautiful boarders passed away from lymphoma yesterday. He fought for 5 months on steroids. Our Tia lost her fight for.life with the same thing almost 2 years ago. Give your beautiful hounds a hug from us today in honour of all our lovely hounds who have crossed the rainbow bridge.

When the hairy one is having the time of her life in the dog park and rolls in every puddle she can find. My poor car!! She smells divine now she's had a lavender shampoo and detangle. Didn't think the black was going come off, it was icky sticky stuff.

Recommendation for sighthound savvy vets please. There have been quite a few changes at our vets and would prefer a vets with sighthound experience. I've heard about a vets in Westbrook and one in Northwich but don't know the name of the vets.

We're in our touring caravan. It hasn't stopped raining. The hounds are taking it in their stride. Today they've been in a copper mine to avoid the rain. The rain on the caravan roof is sooooo loud.
