Little Koda is still on the look out for his forever home. He still continues to make progress with his confidence and training but he needs someone who can take him on and work with him in a more dedicated way, having 5 others doesn't leave me huge amounts of time to work with him on a one to one basis.

Koda's Search for a Forever Home.

Koda has been with us for a couple of months now and is doing really well although he's still a very nervous boy his confidence is growing all the time and as I'm under no illusion it will take some time to find the right home for him I want to start looking as he's potential new home will have to come and meet him at least a couple of times before he goes anywhere as well.

Koda is a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog so slightly different to the Lupines but their care is similar.

He is an incredibly smart boy and he enjoys training, he's very food motivated and learns quickly and I've introduced him to clicker training.
He is very sweet and shows no aggression towards people even when he is very scared he would much rather run away. He's good for handling, has let me brush him and clip his nails and he's now happy having his harness put on and off over his head as well. He is now quite affectionate with me and will often come up to me for attention and cuddles although he can get a little bit giddy when he wants to play and grabs sleeves but redirects easily onto a toy. He now does very well with his crate and sleeps in there every night without any bother until waking me up for the toilet in the morning and he'll happily go into it for a few hours during the day as well as he settled in with a chew or bone.

He's still a very nervous boy especially went out and about. Although he is now how much better with things coming towards him and will pass them normally as long as he has a bit of space he still very much dislikes things coming up behind him especially bikes and joggers and usually once they get close enough the easiest thing is to sit and let him watch them pass and then carry on he is recovering from his nervous reactions much quicker and it's constantly improving, but still gets worried by many things including buggies and fishermen. He is still very nervous of men and takes much longer to warm to them.
He still drools quite a bit when traveling and will occasionally throw up but he will load into a vehicle and crate for traveling without having to be forced.
He's still learning his manners about jumping up at the sides and will grab any opportunity to steal food etc.

I definitely think he needs another confident dog within the household to follow their lead and learn from, can someone with previous wolfdog experience or nervous rescue dog experience would be great.

I can transport him pretty much most places within reason but you would need to come and meet him at least a couple of times first.

If you would be interested in offering Koda the home this sweet little boy deserves please get in touch and please share where you can.

Well little Koda is really starting to settle in well. He sleeps in his crate at night, he's almost completely clean in the house, he's enjoying walkies although he still gets very nervous of people passing too close especially on bikes or if they're coming up behind us but he's getting better all the time. His recall is good too although I'm very selective where he gets to be off lead in case he gets scared.
He's definitely an extra energy level up from my Lupines which isn't unexpected as he's a Czechoslovakia wolfdog which where bred for a higher drive and he likes to pinch things and chew stuff (typical adolescent behaviour) so that's more management than anything else but he's coming on really well. 😊

So please give a warm welcome to little Koda.
He's an 8 month old Czechoslovakian Wolfdog.
Last week I was contacted by a friend of a friend and this little boy had been seized from his owners, I won't go into details but he's had a very rough start. He didn't have long to find somewhere to help before the unthinkable so I offered to foster him as long as he got on with the home pack. Last Saturday we did a test meet up and everyone did great even old man Zeus so he officially (temporarily) joined the pack yesterday.
I'll be working hard to give him a fresh start basic training and building his confidence as he's a very scared little boy, but he's taking a lot of confidence from the pack and learning a lot already.
Once he's rehabilitated enough he'll be looking for a permanent home. As he has no rescue back up he'll be under the same contract conditions as all my pups so I will be his safety net.
