Our summer events are well under way.
So far we’ve had the annual Naphill Riding Club training camp. With riders training on their own horses and some of owned by the College.
Naphill have been running their camp at MM for 25 years!

We also had some new event to Moreton Morrell College this summer.
The Area 5 Dressage Qualifier held on grass. They had a great turn out with around 120 tests being ridden.

Warwickshire Hunt Pony Club run a very successful Area 7 Horse Trials Qualifier Last weekend.
It was a really great event and well attended We are pleased to say they will be back next year to run their second event at Morteton Morrell.

This weekend we welcome the British Connemara Pony Society to Moreton Morrell College for their annual breed show.

The British Connemara Pony Society have been coming to MM for at least 12 years for breed show & gradings events.

This year we have 50+ ponies stabling with us and around 30 people staying onsite in our accommodation.

Our next event is one of my favourites!
From Wednesday we have North Warwickshire Pony Club starting two weeks of Camp!
Minis and juniors followed by Main camp. These weeks are really fun and super busy, & so well organised! & they always have good biscuits!

The Camps use all of our 60+ stables all 3 arenas and grass areas! It is always so fantastic to see so many brilliant young riders enjoying camp.

All of our facilities are available to hire throughout the year for large or small events or for individual activities/training.

We are running unaffiliated classes at 70, 80, 90, 100 AND 100 plus.

And the pony club area 7 qualifier for the JCB champs and regional champs - classes also at 70, 80, 90, 100, and 100 plus.

All course built and prepared by Lloyd Hunt.

£80 per entry and no start fee!

Area 7 Pony Club Eventing Qualifier and Open Unaffiliated Event inc Qualifier for the Horse Events National Eventing Championships opens on 14th July 2024. This West Midlands based horse event will take place at Moreton Morrell College, Moreton Morrell Ln, Warwick, CV35 9BL.

🐱 Vet Nursing Awareness Month - Alumni student case study

"I currently work as an internal medicine nurse at The Ralph referral Hospital and absolutely love it"

🎓 Warwickshire College and University Centre Alumni, Heather Simcock, aged 27 from Shropshire started studying for her FdSc Veterinary Nursing degree at Pershore College in 2015, graduating in 2018.

From the age of 15-16 Heather knew that she wanted to be a Veterinary Nurse and so took the degree level route, which she says she personally loved.

🗨️"The course was split so that half of the year we were in college in lectures and the other half of the year we were in a veterinary practice working on our nursing progress log and hours"

❓ When asked about being involved in any clubs or activities out of studying:

🗨️"I was part of the student council so helped organise and host events, I got to go to Brighton for a huge congress held there. It was great fun and really helped meet different people who were on the different courses, which helped me gain in confidence"

🚀 Heather's passion and love for the Veterinary Nursing Industry continues to develop and grow, and has now:

✅ Completed a certificate in medical nursing through Improve International, published in the Vet Nurse Times

🖥️ Hoping to undertake a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in internal medicine next year after 3 years in the medicine department.

👩‍🏫 Started to lecture for The Ralph Referral Hospital and would love to continue to develop that further

Heather finishes by sharing advice on anyone thinking about studying to to be vet Nurse
