3 years ago today, this little bundle of fur pawed his way into my life and heart. Feels like yesterday but also like he has been here forever. 3 years of almost daily walks and lots of bags of poo. 😂😂😂 🐾 🫶🏻

Nelson is the birthday boy today! 3 years old.
Enjoying his (minging) treat box and a new Gareth #3 (his dog toy). He had a wee ‘pawty’ with his doggy friends at the weekend and is going for breakfast on Friday with his bestie 😂😂

It’s open season at Nelson’s House and kicking off 2024 is wee little Baxter. After a meet and greet walk, a house visit and a solo house visit we had a successful trial night and here we are 🙌🏻 🐶 🐶 🐾 🫶🏻

❌📣 Improtant update! 📣❌

Nelson’s House is currently closed to new clients for the foreseeable. (If you have messaged me recently for dog meet and greets - these are still on).

Due to some forever changing circumstances, I’m having to closely monitor my bookings more than ever before, and want to make sure my regulars have availability for ad hoc visits. I also don’t want to have to let people down.

I’m fully booked as much as I can be for the peak holidays anyway.

I’ll let people know when I’m back open for new doggos. Thanks again for trusting me so much with your furries! 🐶 🐾 🧡

Pleased to say that Nelson’s House has been successful in gaining our boarding licence renewal and are licensed again for 2 more years 🤘🏻🙌🏻 🐶

2024 is very near being closed for bookings so please get in touch to see if I can slot you in.

2024 sees us specialising in Doodle breeds, but do not let that put you off enquiring- and don’t forget I have a resident cat! 🐈‍⬛ (important info!)

Hugo has come to stay for a couple of days whilst his pawrents go away for a very special event!
This afternoon we spent an hour at a VERY wet and muddy Fetch 'n' Stretch. Now chilling with the fire on amidst lots of blankets getting dry and warm.

This is a great idea for a Christmas present for a furry friend or a stocking filler. (I’m not on commission, I promise)

I use this field regularly for boarding dogs who are new or not comfortable off lead.
It allows me that sense of security to bond with the dogs off leash and get them to trust me.

It’s a lovely enclosed space, huge enough to get a proper run around and comes with agility for your dogs to play on. Even a shelter for when it rains!

🐶 🚨 An important update 🚨 🐶

I can’t believe it’s time for me to start the process of my licence renewal - time to reflect and focus on what Nelson’s House is going to look like in 2024!

I’m afraid I’m having to increase my prices for next year, costs of insurance, energy (washing towels and blankets, and keeping your dogs warm) have all increased. I also underestimated just how much work is involved before, during and after the visits (meet and greets, house visits, house leaves and cleaning - mud (my poor car!))

When I started out I set my prices fairly low as I was learning as I went, so it might seem quite a jump.

From now on my prices will be as follows:

£35 boarding per 24 hours

£20 day care per 10 hours

Please note that (for example) if you drop off at 9am and don’t pick up until after 9am the next day you will be charged for boarding + daycare.

I know no one likes a price hike so please do message me if you want to cancel your booking. I’d be sad to lose anyone as all of the dogs I have booked in for next year I absolutely adore, but I will understand.

Please rest assured that I will be maintaining my high standards of love and care for your dogs.
I won’t be taking on as many dogs next year and so I can be more flexible for my regulars, as I understand that circumstances change (and I hate having to say no!)

I will continue to only ever board dogs from the same family, unless agreement from all dogs and owners concerned is reached, and this will only ever be for day care for one dog, or an overlapping stay. This means your dog has my whole attention while they stay.

During their stay, pupdates, dog walks and hugs are free!!

Thank you for reading and for making Nelson’s House the success it has been, and I hope to see you all again / at some point next year 🤞🏻

Comfy there, son? I think Nelson enjoyed his lie in this morning.

Been a bit quiet here of late. A bout of the flu virus will do that to you!

A change in my role at work (OK, a promotion 😉☺️) means there will be a few changes to Nelson’s House in the new year. I will post later when I figure some things out - DON’T worry, all your current bookings are safe!

Fully booked for the rest of 2023 tho - aside from some last minute short stays for returning doggos. So please do message if you need to. 🐶 🐾 🦴 🏠

Luna is in the middle of a short stay and Penny popped in for some day care. 3 Cockapoos is 🤯
but they got on so well and have never stopped.
Managed to find EVERY little bit of water in my garden to play in 🙈

Was worth it for the sleepy snuggles once they gave in to some rest!!

Took Nelson on his first proper mountain walk up the Old Man of Coniston. I think I broke him.
It was TORRENTIAL rain and wind at the top. He did so well with angel like behaviour 🐾🐾 🐶 ⛰️🏕️

That’s it! ‘Summer’ season at Nelson’s House has come to a close. Our last long term guest has left us this morning after being here for a week - happy little Harper, such a sweetie, hopefully she’ll be back soon.

No more long term stays available for 2023 and very limited short term stays.

Nelson and I are taking some time for ourselves, which involves a wee upcoming camping trip.

I’ll be in touch with whose who need house visits in the next few days, for now it’s time to chill 😎

Winnie has arrived for her holidays, and where is best to take her for the first walk?! Fetch 'n' Stretch of course! This allows her to be off the lead and builds trust between us that I’m nice enough to let her off and she knows to come back to me. The dogs also get a good run/bounce about to create bonds 🐶🐶 I am definitely going to recommend this for all my doggy guests. I’m sure we’ll be back sometime this week 😂
