Enjoy a relaxing break in the heart of Washington at The Victoria Inn. The inn is ran by Lee and Sharon who took over The Victoria in March 2020! 10 days before the first lock down. Although not an ideal situation to be in, we have worked it to our advantage and took the opportunity to completely revamp the inside of building, which has added extra charm to a wonderful place. The Victoria Inn has

6 en-suite guest rooms including a family room, that are perfect for a break away. All our guestrooms have the following facilities:

•DVD player
•Bath or power shower
•Iron & ironing board
•Trouser press
•Hairdryer
•Tea and coffee making facilities

Bar & Kitchen

Relax and enjoy our cosy surroundings. There’s always something to keep you entertained in the pub, such as:
•Quizzes
•Screenings of football matches

The regulars love to get to know our guests who come to stay with us, so you’ll always be sure of a warm welcome at the bar. Why not book a special evening meal in our beautiful restaurant

Private Functions

Come to The Victoria Inn for your next special occasion. There is no hire charge and we have three rooms for you to choose from. We offer an optional buffet service, or you can arrange your own catering. Take advantage of our Book and Cook service with our large double barbeque in the garden. Then we tidy up after! We are conveniently located next to a main bus route, giving you access to all of the top tourist attractions of the North East. The Victoria Inn is a two-minute drive from junction 64 of the A1 motorway and a six-minute drive from the A19 turn-off next to the Nissan car factory. You’re also just a short drive away from these major locations:
•15 minutes to both Sunderland and Newcastle city centres
•10 minutes to Chester-le-street
•20 minutes to Durham city centre
•20 minutes to Newcastle Airport
•15 minutes to Gateshead Metro Centre

Well where do we start? What an absolutely amazing night last night. It’s my favourite night of the year, just seeing all the smiling faces looking up to the sky, cooing at sounds and sights 🥰Old friends seeing each other for the first time in years and strangers being kind to each other. I must thank our unbeatable Team Vic, which doesn’t just include the fabulous people you see working in the pub but our gorgeous supportive friends. We honestly couldn’t do this without any of yous. Yous all just crack on and work so hard. A huge Thank you to Thirlaways for all the lush sweets they donated to give out to the kids. Also to K&K beauty and barbers and the lovely Wheel House for their super kind donation towards the fireworks 🥰 we are so lucky to have such supportive local businesses on our side. The last thanks is to you all, for using all the bins provided, there was very little rubbish left for us to pick up, buying the raffle tickets to help towards the fireworks and for your patience with the queues, we are honestly can’t go any faster than we do. So once again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much 😻
