Double the Love: Two Gorgeous Labs at Woodhill Hall!
Celebrating Jenna and Lee’s stunning day at Woodhill Hall with their two beautiful, well-behaved black Labradors!
Double the dogs, double the fun.

It was a tough drive through the heavy snow to get to Northumberland, but there was no way I was going to let this beautiful couple down.
My RVN expertise focused on silent, seamless logistics and comfort after the cold walks:

• Warm Up & Snooze Control: After cold walks on the grounds, the boys enjoyed a thorough dry and warm-up session right by one of Woodhill Hall’s two roaring real fires!

• Clinical Comfort: Ensuring they stayed cool during the indoor excitement, then happily settled together for a safe snooze while their parents partied the night away!

Thank you, Jenna and Lee, for trusting Wishbone Weddings with your two best friends. It was pure, cosy joy!

What Causes Zoomies?

Zoomies are how dogs release built-up stress or excitement.
Wedding days are packed with triggers: being confined, released suddenly, or overwhelmed by loud crowds and emotional energy.

This creates the perfect setup for a chaotic FRAP.
The RVN Difference: Prevention

A Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) chaperone doesn’t just react, we prevent.

We manage energy clinically:

• Proactive Walks: Mandatory, high-value walks burn off excess energy before critical moments (ceremony, first dance).

• Decompression: A dedicated, quiet, scent-controlled area provides essential downtime for the dog to process stress safely.

• Clinical Monitoring: We constantly read subtle body language (lip-licking, panting, yawning) to intervene before the chaotic energy explodes.

With 20 years of RVN experience, you gain the confidence that your dog is calm, happy, and photo-ready, guaranteeing a safe and seamless day.

Hello to all our wonderful new followers! 👋
I’m Cheryl, the owner of Wishbone Weddings.

This company was born out of a wedding problem: When I married, I desperately wanted our dog, Peggy (our CEO!), to be there, but everyone I trusted to care for her was already a guest! 💔

I knew other couples faced the same heartache, and that became my mission.

Since launching the business:
✨ Pioneer & Experience: I was the first dog chaperone service set up in the North East, and I’ve been serving couples for over nine years!

🩺 Clinical Safety: I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with over 20 years of clinical experience.

The Wishbone Difference: My background combines RVN safety expertise with an eye for detail, as I take professional photographs of your dog throughout their Wishbone Wedding day. I know what makes a great shot because I previously served as a wedding second shooter, so you get stress-free care and high-quality, memorable images.

But……..we’re more than just weddings, we are fully invested in the North East Dog Community! You can find us working with Wylam Dog Socials, supporting the Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter, and sharing essential veterinary tips and local “What’s On” guides every month.

We are proud to be a highly recommended supplier and your region’s most experienced dog professional.

STOP SCROLLING 👋 - If your dog is stressed by Bonfires Night Fireworks 🎆

💥Take your dog for a walk well before fireworks are due to begin.
💥Keep doors, windows, cat and dog flaps closed.
💥Draw the curtains and play music with a repetitive beat to help mask the sounds.
💥If your pet prefers to go away and hide, let them. Leave them alone and don’t try to comfort them – this is their way of coping.
💥If your pet is used to seeking reassurance from you in stressful times, comfort them as you would normally.
This is a short-term solution to help your pet cope while they’re afraid. In the long term, it’s important to give your pet another way to cope – e.g. by providing a den – in case you aren’t there when they’re scared.
💥Stay calm yourself. Keep your tone, mood and behaviour as normal as possible. If you get very anxious or comfort your pet more than usual, this can make your pet more unsettled.
Never punish your pets. It’s not their fault they’re scared and it adds to their anxiety.
💥 Feed your dog a high carbohydrate meal an hour before you expect fireworks can help them feel sleepy. .
💥 Thunder jackets can help them feel secure and safe, it’s too late for this year but look into desensitising tv/radio channels
💥 Adaptil herbal tablets, plug in diffusers and adaptil collars may help.
💥 Pet remedy also a different brand diffusers, sprays and wipes. TIP- Wipes can be tied on to dog collars.
Zylkene are a natural calming, anti anxiety capsules that your pet takes orally.
💥 Sileo (My fave) Latin name for be silent it is a gel that is applied to your pets gums it has a medication that calms the dog down without fully sedating them.
Contact your vet if you feel your pet may benefit from something even stronger they may prescribe diazepam. Never let your vet prescribe Acp (Acepromazine) this is a tranquilliser so your pet will hear the fire works and be scared but won’t be able to move or hide this is very old school!!
Find out when your local firework display is on so you can be prepared for it!.
Classic fm play dog/cat friendly music - keep an ear out for when
Research desensitising for next year if you haven’t already ✔️
