Would you love snow on your wedding day?
Winter Weddings (December-February)
* Higher Chance: Snow is more likely during these months, especially in the northern parts of the UK.
* Potential Range: 20-50% chance or higher, depending on the specific location and year.
* Spring/Autumn Weddings (March-May & September-November):
* Lower Chance: Snow is less common.
* Potential Range: 5-15% chance or lower.
* Summer Weddings (June-August):
* Very Low Chance: Snow is extremely rare during these months.

If you’ve been following our stories we’ve been sharing some health tips to kick start the new year
So far we’ve established:
🩺Your pets body condition score
🩺Typically free to use scales at your vet practice
🩺 Some vet surgeries run weight clinic
🩺 Check and follow feeding guidelines on packaging
🩺 Weigh food portion mark on a cup to ensure your feeding correct amount each feed
🩺 Take some kibble out of their daily food portion and use them for treats they feel they are getting treats still but with no extra calories
🩺 Offer low calorie treats eg carrot 🥕 cucumber 🥒
🩺 A medium size dog eating a roast potato is the same as a person eating 1 1/2 lasagna
🩺 Walking is a must for a happy and healthy dog.
🩺 You could vary the exercise E.g Power walk with intervals, Play fetch, Use the stairs, Use obstacles when your out walking E.g jump on logs, wade through water
🩺 Set up obstacle using a broom stick across two objects
🩺 Swimming and hydrotherapy is beneficial
🩺 Rest is important dogs need 12 to 14 hours per day
🩺 Have a bed in a safe comfortable place where they won’t be disturbed
🩺 Crate training is beneficial

I get it December was lots of fun but extremely busy and expensive.

Sunrise takes place between 7:59 am and
8:30am this month.
I know this area very well, and you won’t have much phone reception. Pack a picnic and enjoy an unplugged more connected experience with your pup.

Yes, Durham Cathedral is dog friendly during a trial period from November 18, 2024 to March 31, 2025
Policy:
Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. Dogs are allowed in all areas of the cathedral, but in the following areas dogs are prohibited.
● The Shrine of St Cuthbert (Feretory)
● The Library and Durham Cathedral Museum
● The Central Tower
● The Learning Centre
● The Undercroft Restaurant
● Priors Hall
Dogs are not permitted to accompany visitors on the following activities;
● Tours of the cathedral
● Tower climbs
● Ticketed events
Dogs are permitted to accompany worshippers to services. If a dog disrupts a service, their owner will be asked to remove their dog from the service.

I do love a beach walk this time of year, the beaches are quieter the air is crisp and if you’re wrapped up in your comfy warm dog walking attire then there’s nothing better!

NAIL TIPS — Excuse the puns, I just can’t help myself
⭐️ Walk your dog on hard surface, nails should wear down, just keep checking the few claw as often they don’t touch the ground

⭐️ If you have a pup get them used to peopling holding and examining their paw so it won’t be worrying for them later in life

⭐️ If you have a pup their nails can be sharpe, you can use a nail file to blunt them

⭐️ Dark nails are harder as you can’t see the quick you have to try just to trim the very ends
⭐️ Don’t risk getting bitten or the dog becoming stressed seek help from a groomer or vets
