🚨CALLING ALL NEW PUPPY OWNERS🚨- have you just got a new puppy for Christmas?🐾🫶🏼
Happy new year to all my lovely clients! 🥂 I just wanted to pop out a new post for all new puppy owners.
As you all know a puppy is not just for Christmas, and as the festive season comes to a end, I have no doubts that there are so many families who have welcomed new furry friends into their homes. Along with a puppy, depending on breed, comes lots of new responsibilities. High maintenance Cockerpoo’s or low maintenance labs, all breeds require some sort of dog grooming from a young age to get them de sensitised and ready for their full grooms at 6 months. There are so many new owners who I have spoken to that had no idea how important it was to get their pups in as early as possible to help prepare them for their grooming schedules and help get them used to a groomer.
As soon as your pups have had all their jabs, they are ready to come to the groomers and have puppy pampers. Puppy pampers are designed to get your dog used to me, the salon environment, and all the sounds and sensations that come with a groom. They need to be as comfortable and relaxed from a young age to ensure a positive experience in the long run. Full grooms including clipping the hair don’t take place until atleast 6 months, so before this time, getting your pups used to the dryer, bathing, nail trimming, brushing etc, will really help to avoid any issues when it comes to the full groom in a few months time.
My job is to make your puppy as happy and content as possible during the process in my 1-1 salon. It is based in a relaxing rural environment and will help to keep them calm under a stressful first time experience. As they’re so young, they’re typically scared of most things, therefore grooming them in a quiet salon really helps their development and confidence in so many other aspects of life.
Puppy pampers start from £30 and include:
- Bath
- Dry
- Brush
- Nail Trim
- Ear Clean
- All hygiene areas trimmed
- Feet trimmings and face trimmings if necessary
- Any short haired breeds such as labradors, pugs, jack russels etc all still need de shedding sessions to prevent malting and get rid of any dead undercoat.
I will also spend time with the puppy, playing with them and making them feel safe and happy around me. I never push a dog too far, so whatever they are happy with I will do, and anything they’re struggling to cope with, we will work on in future sessions until they are happy with the process. Please remember all puppies big or small are different, some take time and patience and some are just complete bundles on confidence and thrive during the process, both types are completely normal 🩵
