I'm super excited to confirm I have passed my final assessment to become a registered Animal Behaviour Technician with the ABTC (Animal Behaviour and Training Council) π₯³ They are one of the leading organisations for the registration of trainers and behaviourists in the UK, so it is a real achievement and proud moment :) I wish I could say that is it for me now, however, I am already onto the next course! π Learning never stops!

Our next UK Sniffer Dogs series 1 (beginners) tracking workshop is taking place on Saturday 29th March 2025 πΎ
Held at the beautiful outdoor setting of Springwood Junior School in Waterlooville, this workshop is suitable for dogs of all ages and breeds.
Tracking is the ability detect, recognise and follow a specific scent of ground disturbance. Our dogs are born with this skill and would use it for survival before being domesticated. Humans have harnessed this for years; by applying dog behaviour to the dog's ability to track, we now use tracking dogs for lots of different operational purposes including:
- Police for criminals and evidence
- Military for opposition and threats
- Tracking poachers
- Finding animals
When tracking a human, the dogs are taught to follow track scent, which is the disturbance in the ground left by the humans feet (footprints). Tracking dogs are taught to keep their nose down and follow the whole track, not just to get to the end, but to also indicate on any evidence (articles) dropped by the criminal, and find which route they took.
In the series 1 workshop you will learn how to lay and follow tracks with your dog and indicate on articles along the track.
Workshops run from 10am to 1.30pm and are limited to 4 dogs, so early booking is advised!

At K9 Klass we are dedicated to helping you teach your dog the skills and behaviours required to live a happy, enriched life, via puppy classes, training courses and workshops held at our venue at Clanfield Memorial Hall, Waterlooville. With indoor and outdoor facilities, we have the best of both worlds when it comes to training your dog!
We pride ourselves on using up to date, reward based, force free methods, taught by experienced and qualified dog trainer Juanita Rogers KCAI (CD), IMDT, BCCSDip.HthNut.
Our courses and workshops are designed to keep dog training fun without any pressure of having to undertake exams or assessments in order to move to the next level. Too many people become trapped in the cycle of "what do I need to pass?", "how many pass marks do I have outstanding?", "when am I going to do what I have left to pass?" and lose sight of why they started training in the first place - to have FUN and learn with their dog!!
We have dog training classes and workshops to suit all dogs and owners, ranging from puppy training, intermediate and advanced classes, dog behaviour training, specialist workshops and gundog classes.
We also run UK Sniffer Dogs classes, workshops and trials at our second venue at the Wickham Centre, Wickham, Fareham.
