Waterperry Equestrian is a livery and competition yard near Oxford run by sport horse producer, Ellie Kay.

Ellie has evented to CCI4*-S on home-produced horses and is available for backing, producing, sales and competition services in all disciplines. We aim to:
- Source quality youngstock
- Produce horses and ponies for eventing
- Help clients with reschooling, backing and competing
- Help clients produce horses for sale
- Provide tailored training and schooling for horse and rider

Very sadly selling our beautiful 2011 Solitaire Sapphire III horsebox. 268,000 miles. Built for me in 2018 on good solid DAF chassis.

7.5t, 1.5t payload, easily carries 3 big horses, and stalled for 4 ponies. End space has no tack locker which is great for very big or naughty horses!

Lovely to drive, and operate. Excellent living with brilliant leisure battery system which means I have never had to pay for hook up at a 3 day event.

Luxury living, cut through, luton, sleeps 4, toilet, shower, wash basin, sink, gas hob, fridge, central heating, hot water, horse wash, horse camera, reversing camera, LED lighting throughout, 3 seat cab, very comfortable to drive and live in. Automatic with cruise control.

No expense spared, full service history, went to DAF garage last week for some work and now very good to go. Solitaire replaced the ramp a while while ago. A year's MOT. Kept under cover for a large proportion of its time with me.

Very sadly for sale as I no longer go to 3 day events and realistically don't need a lorry with living anymore.

He has XC schooled and has also attended a number of Fun Rides where he has jumped everything asked of him.
Rocky has been on mounted hound exercise and hunt rides, good with hounds. Good candidate for a fieldmaster / hunt servant.
Rocky has good conformation, no lumps, bumps or sarcoids. He has a striking white marking on his shoulder that he was born with.
He is a nice boy to have around and a yard favourite. Good to travel, catch, shoe. Snaffle mouth.
Rocky isn’t a lover of work in the school and although this will come with time he would prefer a home where he could get out and about rather than be focused on time in the arena.

Scribble will be looking for a loan home at the end of September. Her breeder would like her go and see the world for a year or two. Hunt, event, showing, fun rides etc.
Would suit experienced rider who wants a fun project to get stuck into.
Broken and riding, hacking out in company, basic flatwork, been on hound exercise.
She is only four and needs a good jockey who is happy to deal with babyish quirks whilst having some fun and giving her maximum exposure to the world. Could be a great option for someone whose horse is off games and wanting something to get out and about on.

A good day for homebred baby stallion, Drummer - not only did 3 out of his 3 mares scan in-foal first time but he also had his first ride today. Such a lovely easy boy with the most wonderful temperament - he only had a saddle on for the first time 2 days ago!
Very excited for his first crop of foals in the spring 🤩

Moves very well, excellent conformation and good to handle. 4yo full sister is perfection in temperament and ability and has been retained - but we can't keep them all. Oxford. Mid 4 figures

For long-term loan
Tiger Cub, 15yo, 15h3, TB mare. Very low mileage as has been a broodmare for 11 years. Now back in full work and professionally reschooled by 4* event rider.
Hacks alone and in company
Good in open spaces and in traffic
Only recently started jumping but showing promise and is straight and easy to a fence.
Schools nicely on the flat in an outline. Sometimes strikes off on the wrong leg in canter but getting better!
Seen hounds & done quiet day hunting
Lovely horse for someone to have some low level fun with.
She is forward and can sometimes be a bit joggy but snaffle mouth all times and is lovely and responsive. Not suitable for a novice.
Easy to do, no vices.
Good to box, catch & shoe etc

My super boy, Shannondale Jaco, is coming back to me after nearly a year on lease as sadly his current leaser has had a change in circumstances. I'm tentatively putting feelers out to see who would be interested in potentially leasing him going forward.

Jack is rising 10, 15h3 gelding. Competed up to 2* and Intermediate and a BE100 and Novice schoolmaster. Has winnings of £500 BS in just 6 months up to Newcomers. Good on the flat, competing Medium and trained to Advanced Medium.

Good to do all ways and a real pleasure to have around. No vet history. Very low mileage.
Purchased directly from the Shannondale Horses stud in Ireland and produced by myself from a 3yo.

Not a novice ride but huge fun for someone keen and confident!
To move yards but to stay in the country.

£800 pcm + Insurance. Available start of May at the earliest.

FOR LOAN Oxford - happy hack, potential fun all-rounder available. Due to previous home falling through, Tiger Cub is looking for a long-term loan home.

Tiger is a 15yo 15h3 TB mare.

Tiger has recently returned to ridden work after 11 years as a broodmare. She enjoys to work and is hacking out every day and is confident alone and in company, she can occasionally be joggy and have a spook but mainly she is super chilled!

She is starting to work in the arena, works in a correct frame, is balanced on both reins in trot. She canters nicely in an outline and has a good rythm but striking off on the correct lead is a work in progress! She hasn't ever jumped.

Tiger is a very chunky TB, she moves like a warmblood and has excellent feet. She is hardy and usually lives out 24/7 rugless all year round but now that she is in work she's stabled during the day and rugged.

Tiger is kind, polite and easy in every way, she has no previous injuries, vices or special requirements. She did suffer complications from foaling in April '23 and had to have colic surgery for a displaced colon, which she has made a full recovery from.

Tiger is very precious to us as not only has she given us some wonderful foals over the years, she has always been an absolute pleasure in every respect and is kind and gentle soul.

She is only available to someone experienced who understands that she will need a further retraining before she does anything more exciting than hacking and a bit of schooling. But she has been brought back into work very correctly by experienced event rider so is already going sweetly in an outline and is responsive to the aids.

I think she would enjoy just hacking about but if she really took to ridden work I don't see why she couldn't do some low level competing, fun rides etc.

Not suitable for nervous or novice rider due to her lack of recent ridden experience. Riders under 10.5 stone.

In an ideal world she would stay on livery at present yard in Waterperry (excellent facilities and hacking) or can move to within 1hr of Oxford.

Mucking out 8-11 stables plus turnouts and bring ins etc.
Modern American barn with nice horses and people.
I am looking for someone reliable, efficient and quick with high standards and previous experience.
Confident handler is a must!
