We’re delighted to announce that after our recent inspection we’ve retained our British Horse Society approved livery status. It’s also very pleasing to receive the grading results which hopefully shows our clients the high standards we aim to provide at our establishment.

Before the horses arrived our grass paddocks had cows in them, at this time of year it would be the start of the calving period where we’d have the cows out on the grass and young calves being born. It always signified the start of spring and an enjoyable time in the farming year. 🐄🌱

We had a new roof fitted to our wooden stable block last week. The job was completed by RSS Yorkshire who’ve manufactured a large number of the stables on the yard over the years and provide a first class service.

With temperatures set to soar across the UK, consider how you can keep your horse as comfortable as possible 😎

💦The most effective way to cool down a horse is to continuously pour cold water all over their body. Don’t waste time scraping - leaving water on a horse will not make them hotter. Instead, any water sitting on the coat will evaporate and contribute to the cooling process.

Our infographic below provides some simple steps you can take to keep your horse cool and comfortable, as well as signs to look out for if you are worried about dehydration. If you have any concerns for your horse contact your vet immediately.

Twenty years ago we didn’t have any horses on our farm, I always had a plan to diversify into DIY Livery and at the end of 2021 the plan was completed. Today we were awarded Highly Commended in the SEIB Insurance Brokers Horse & Hound DIY Livery Yard of the Year 2022. The recognition from people in the equine industry makes all the hard work worthwhile and makes us very proud.

We’re very proud to have made it to the final two….🤞
