Please do not use glitter in your reindeer food on Christmas Eve. It is plastic and harmful to wildlife. Even biodegradable glitter.

Instead, just used rolled oats and bird seed to help the wildlife in your garden 🐿🦔🦉

Peanut over 600g so will no doubt go into sleep mode over the few weeks.

Chez Chelle updates

Little Poppet brought in on Monday fought valiantly, but his lungworm burden was just too great, and he went over the rainbow bridge 🌈

Aramis is fine. Ringworm is now clear, so it is feeding and clearing for this one.

Hogtanian is also ok. Just needs time to put some weight on.

Pippin has returned to carer Helen after a stint in the hogspital due to a cough. Good weight gains but needs to put more on before she is ready for release.

Helen brought back Timmy as she is worried about him not thriving. Further checks needed to work out if something is wrong or if he is just being naughty.

Violet is still with carer Helen, but won't decide if she wants to hibernate or not.

Base 1 wath
This week we have had in a little 1 OITD in kimberworth, so hedgie carer Sean is keeping an eye on Stan for now.
Peanut is making good progress👍
Stitch has had another big drop in weight this week so is on a course of antibiotics. She has now started to gain weight again thank goodness 👍
Fortune has had spa treatment of a lovey warm hot tub and an exfoliating treatment to help with his skin
Charlie and bubbles are good inmates who eat sleep💩 repeat 👍
Boris can’t wait to be wild and free bless him 👍
Lil Bean is creeping up to release weight and Harriet is a super tidy girly and not 1 for partying 👍
Dusty had been adding lots of weight this week, a good hedgie 👍
Tom 2 came in last night from swinton, at only 398g and his poo check showed capillaria 😩
Carole came in from Brampton Ellis Infants school, OITD 323g and she has capillaria 😩
Faith came in via junior hedgie carer Keela, faith was 427g but she has capillaria and Crenosoma (lung worm) so lots of meds and everything crossed for her 🙏
Steve is chunking the weight on now and is ready to go to a carer, When we have space 👍
Amber doesn’t eat much but she is managing to add a few grams each night, a better week for Amber👍
Moh has had his spa treatment and is still losing the odd spine or 2. Hopefully this week will be better for him. He is making good weight gains though👍

No Releases so far this week as the weather is against us.
Wee Harry is turning into a proper wild hoggy with attitude and now weighs 739g.
Sapphire I think I need to add to mortgage as this chap has been here that long but this week weight has remained steady and weighs 573g.
Robin is a star and putting weight on and is now at 632g.
Taco is weighing in at 644g.
Bell Tacos sibling is up and down and will not sleep in her bed, weight is 520g.
Sunshine is a whopping 820g this morning and will be released this evening.
Paddy is a 😍 who dislikes weigh ins lol but don't we all. Current weight is 666g.
Cash has gotten with the programme and 💩 all over. Current weight 665g.
Fred is just messy and weighs in at 691g.
Dewey is another who needs to be on mortgage, my little 😍 is up and down with weight and is now at 544g.
Ivy 🤩 aka Princess Tidy is a gem who doesn't like injections so we had words when it was meds time this week, weight increasing nicely and is now at 435g.

Moh,Susie, Stitch, Tom, Amirah, Amber, Steve Noel are at wath base. Most of these inmates are in the last of their meds for lung worm and starting to add weight nicely. Stitch is star of the week🦔👍🦔
Fortune has a touch of ringworm on his nose so Galina is tr sting him for that. Well done Galina keep at it. 👍
Peanut is making good progress with Teresa👍
Rooster and Monty are doing well, outside getting used to lower temps before they are released.
Also in Conisbrough we have Abraham, scooby, Jerry, Sue, Scawsby and Pebbles all making good strong progress👍

Aramis is doing well following his ringworm treatment. His spines are coming back, his skin is much improved, and he was over 700g this morning.

Hogtanian is being a pain in the prickles. He is yo-yoing in weight but still up at 589g.

Robin is doing brilliantly and can be released as soon as the weather allows. He was 1026g this morning.

Thistle has been gaining nicely since finishing treatment for lungworm. A drop today, but still at 627g

Violet and Timmy, over with Helen in Grenoside, are being naughty. They showed signs of hibernation and lost weight but are eating again. Come on, you two.👍
Also with Helen is Pippin. Doing well. No worries with this one.
With Sharon and Ann we have Fungus who is snoozing, molly and Ziggy who are finishing meds for parasites.

Stressful, hectic week with several 🦔🦔🦔🦔 loosing weight and causing concerns.
Sick 🦔 first;
Sapphire is up and down with weight and now at 559g.
Robin was really poorly mid week but meds seem to be kicking in so 🤞for him.
Bell has also been up and down and need a 💩 from her for sample, current weight 479g.
Dewey 😍 loosing this week but last night a 18g increase 🤞now in at 557g.

Wee Harry is a sweetie, and very prickly and eats well, weight is 537g.
Paddy is very laid back and weighs 492g.
Cash, this hog must love being medicated lol, more meds this week and is now at 495g.

Well hedgie fans it’s been a very hectic
Weekend and we are still on a 1 out- 1 in basis as we have so many little autumn juveniles in now, it leaves us will only a few places left for bigger ones to come in that may release places. This means we may have to lose a hedgie to a 🌈 to be able to take in another.

Updates- all our inmates are doing really well at the moment. Even trouble with a capital T - Stitch has finally made progress and is now starting to add weight. Phew 😥
We will have a couple of releases as soon as the weather is steady at night.
It was lovey to see so many of our hedgie fans coming gand introducing themselves, at the Xmas fair on Saturday.
To everyone who supported the stall, every penny counts and helps our spiky little friends at the rescue.
We will get through kilo upon kilo of
cat/kitten biscuits and hedgie biscuits, in the next few months, so thank you 🙏

Inmate updates will be on tomorrow afternoon hedgie fans. We have been very busy, out raising funds for the rescue down at wath hall today and tomorrow chief prickles debs, is taking a rare day off tomorrow, to go to York Christmas market with family.
We are on 1 out/1 in basis still, as we are full with Autumn juveniles all full of nasty parasites.

Spotty from sprotbrough came in but it was too late for us to help him. 🦔🌈😢
Henry in from Rawmarsh 249g so poo check to do and then settle on for the winter 👍
Thistle in from Medivets dv are Tom, Frank and Thistle. Frank and Tom have capillaria and coccidiosis so have started treatments.
Thistle just needs to add some weight

Ranger and Rover both came in during the week but sadly they went over the rainbow dying the night. Such a shock and a shame when you find this and before you can really do any to help them.

Hogtanian is still yo-yoing and has some dry skin patches, so he is getting treated for those.
Robin is now a good weight and may be a candidate for release once the temperatures improve. One final p**p check will determine this.
Over with carer Helen, we still have Violet and Timmy. Both are just about at release weight but are slow going.

Bad; CoCo was brought in from Kimberworth, lots of flystrike and a very poorly hog. Hours spent removing flystrike but unfortunately she 🌈😢 RIP CoCo.
Good news; Huey was returned last night to Dan and released so 🤞for him.
Diamond was released Saturday night at Wombwell with the lovely Lyn and her husband, thanks for the video footage.

Wee Harry is a picky 🦔 but has decided Purina biscuits and Brambles are his favourites, donations welcome. He is now weighing in at 298g.
Sapphire is a little up and down this week and has lost today, weight currently 583g.
Taco in from Wath last Friday is steadily increasing and loving Purina biscuits and weighs in at 342g.
Bell (same finder as Taco) came to Oakwell yesterday from Wath has lost overnight and weighs 383g, she is on meds so 🤞for this little lady.
Robin is on programme eat, sleep 💩 and weighs 422g.
Sunshine 🌞is a star 🦔 who is weighing in at 450g. She has completed her meds this week.
Paddy is a sweetie weighing in at 361g.
Cash well this hog has had meds galore and seems to finally be settling he weighs in at 342g.
Fred from Dodworth is showing his thoughts on wet feed and 💩 in his food when not too impressed, now weighing 389g.
Dewey 😍 has taken to trashing his cage at least 3 times a day but cannot stay annoyed at him, weighing in at 586g.
Prickles, hates weigh ins and tries to leg it, having to use a bucket 🪣 to keep him on scales lol, has decided Purina biscuits are the best and now only picks at his wet weighing in at 431g.
Fitzy is a little cage wrecker and weighs 385g.
