Boom Town!
We have had 4 litters born over the last few days here at Clydara, 34 pups in total 😲 and we aren't done yet. We are still expecting 🐁

Meet the Mouse Monday!

This little chunk is Washington, one of our PEW males, however we affectionately call him 'Beefcake' 🥰
He is probably our most popular stud boy as voted by the ladies. We don't select his girls when it comes to pairing, he chooses his own and he only has to look at them to get them pregnant!
He is the epitome of a 'mans man' in the mouse world.

News update!
Those of you who follow Clydara will be aware that we attended Swinford show last month. We made a post to show our day and to give you a hint regarding new varieties, well today is the day we can reveal to you our new breeding projects!

🐁 Cream 🐁- Should be just off white with black or pink eyes.

🐁 Broken 🐁- Should not have evenly placed markings or Dutch markings, uniform sized spots distributed over the body with no brindling, must have a spot on one side of the nose.

We are very excited to be adding these varieties to Clydara, but bare in mind as these are new lines to us, there will be a wait for available pups.

Here at Clydara we are always striving to improve our lines for health, temperament and show quality. We work with other breeders/exhibitors from all over the country to gain critique and valuable constructive feedback, but also to share new bloodlines. We show our mice as often as we can (not as much as we would like currently due to life commitments) to get insight from the judges so we can continue to work on any faults and carefully plan selective breeding.
We've had some fantastic mentors along the way, who we still work with, but we as a Mousery would love to give back and help someone who is keen to get into the breeding/showing world!

What a fabulous day at Swinford today! No placings for us this time with such strong competition. A great turn out for entries and a huge congratulations to Andrew for bringing home Best In Show with his stunning Cream Satin. Well done to all who attended and placed today ❤️

He is a 7 month old Tricolour. He is very sweet, inquisitive by nature and loves food. This little man is retiring from his stud duties here at Clydara and is now looking for his forever home 🏡

Our Refund/Return Policy:

We always take the health and temperament of our mice seriously and keep this in mind when pairing them for breeding.

We are bringing real lives into this world and unfortunately sometimes things happen which are beyond our control, no matter how good the pairing/genetics. This is why all our mice come with a 30 day guarantee from day of purchase; if an animal falls ill outside of the owners doing, we will refund/replace where appropriate, providing a full one month health/husbandry brief can be ascertained. We will not cover pregnancy after 25 days of leaving the Mousery and will not cover at all any illness/accident that could have been prevented with correct husbandry. In the unfortunate event that natural death should occur within 30 days of purchase, a full refund or a replacement will be offered.

If something of concern arises then please contact us as soon as possible. We will always do our best to help and advise on the situation.

We will always take back any mouse bred by Clydara regardless of age should your circumstances change.

No refund/replacement will be granted for any mouse returned to the Mousery after 30 days of purchase.

We hope that you will not need this guarantee but it is to protect us as a Mousery and future homes in order to provide the best possible mice and service.

Update 6/5 - they went to their new home today!
These beautiful little girls will be ready for their new home at the beginning of May and are currently available. 1 red eye Splashed, 1 black eye Splashed and a Tricolour. Just coming up to 3 weeks old now and starting to wean. Don't you just love their little faces 🥰

These 4 PEW sisters are off to their new home later this week! They are absolutely adorable with ears that go on for days. Our first PEW litter has been snapped up by a good friend and fellow fancier 🥰

What a fantastic day at the Bradford Championships in Doncaster! Our Tricolour Buck Dudley picked up 3rd place in his class 😍
Was lovely to catch up with some familiar faces again. Congratulations to all who entered and placed today! What a show stopper from Andrew with his Cream taking BIS ❤️

These little beans are 2 weeks old! They’ve just started to open their eyes and soon they’ll be exploring outside of the nest. Aren’t they just adorable?! 😍

We are still busy here at Clydara but we do have a favour to ask from you.

If you have any egg boxes, tubes or general small cardboard packaging/ packing paper, our mice would be very grateful!

We like to keep our mice entertained, busy and with cluttered housing and nothing does this better than cardboard. However we are going through more than we can currently get our hands on so if you are in the Rushden and surrounding area then we would love to take it off your hands on a regular basis.

You would make quite a few mice very happy ❤️ 🐭🐁

Clydara Mousery attended the London Championship Show in Peterborough today. We had a cracking day catching up with fellow fancier’s.
We took a gamble and decided to enter 5 of our mice in the Under 8 Weeks classes… what a gamble that turned out to be!

Dove - 1st in class
Champagne - 1st in class
AOV Satin - 1st in class
Roan - 2nd in class

No placing for our Merle today, however we had some lovely feedback from the judge about him.

Thank you to both judges and NMC for organising a fantastic event. Congratulations to all that placed with mice today!

As promised here are our bean photos of our latest litters!
As you can see, our Sable ran out of toner 😂 we absolutely love the array of colours in this litter.
Speaking of colours, we are very pleased with our Tri rainbow 🌈 they’ve just opened their eyes in the last couple of days.
We did struggle to get pictures of our Champagne and Dove litters as they have just found their feet and staying still is boring, so we’ve got this gorgeous photo of one of the Champagne’s as she was making a bid for freedom.

We’ve been hit with a baby boom here at Clydara! We should quite probably look at taking out shares in Heinz with the new bean collection that have landed within the last week 😂
We have pups in our Dove nest, Champagne nest, Tricolour nest and Sable nest 🐁 as before we won’t be posting pictures of them until they are a little older. If you are interested in any of the varieties mentioned, please just send us a message 😊

It’s been a quiet 2 weeks at Clydara since our bean photos so here is an update!
Our first litters are now just over 3 weeks old and have started exploring outside the nest 🐁 they should be fully weaned in the next week.
Our current pregnant doe’s are due to drop beans for us anytime this week - we are very excited!
We’ve also paired up 2 Tri colour doe’s with our tri colour buck… watch this space for a baby boom!

We promised you a bean update… well here we are!
10 days old today and coats are developing nicely.
We have a black tan and sable in one nest and black merle, blue roan and chocolate roan in another!
We will continue to post pupdates on these (and upcoming) litters regularly.
The black tan and chocolate roan will be available when they are 6 weeks old, both are doe’s. Please message us if you are interested in giving these 2 girls a new home 😊

No pictures quite yet but we will be providing regular updates and photos will surface when they are a little older. Along with many other breeders, we have affectionately named them Beans so please stay tuned for Bean news ❤️

Swinford Mouse Show today… what an adventure and fantastic learning curve for us at Clydara. It was a pleasure to meet the other breeders/exhibitors and finally put faces to names!
It was a welcoming atmosphere and although we had a lot to take in, we definitely came home with some exciting knowledge… and some new mice 🐁
Congratulations to everyone who’s mice placed today, there were some absolute show stoppers and we can’t wait to see what the next show brings 😊

As the weekend quickly approaches, we at Clydara mousery are looking forward to our first ever mouse show this Sunday 🐭

Being held just outside Lutterworth means it's a short jaunt for us and promises to be an exciting day for all involved. We will not be submitting any mice for judging this time around but let's see what the future holds!

Hope everyone is managing to stay cool in this crazy heat!
We’re hoping to get some photos up of our mice once the weather is back at an acceptable temperature to do a photo shoot.
In the mean time here are some tips to help keep your mousey friends cool!

- make sure cold fresh water is readily available

- keep your mice out of direct sunlight and in a cool room

- use a fan to offer some air movement for your mice but don’t blow it directly into their cages

- freeze some ceramic tiles to pop in their cages for them to lay on, or use a frozen mug for them to hide in

- check them regularly and refresh water and tiles/mugs as necessary

- try to avoid handling them

- minimise the amount of bedding they have

Some of our breedings will include mice with satin coats as well as normal self coats.

Pet Home requirements:
- must be over the age of 16
- have a set up ready and provide pictures
- set ups need to meet the minimum requirements of 80cm length x 50cm width for 3 females and 60cm length x 40cm width for a male
- Males will ALWAYS be homed as singles
- Females MUST be in groups of at least 3
- No children under the age of 10 years due to delicate handling

There are no exceptions to the above requirements and mice will not be homed to anyone who isn’t willing to meet them.

Welcome to Clydara Mousery!
We offer a selection of Tricolour, Pink Eye White (PEW) and Dutch varieties of fancy show type mice. We have 2 breeders located 5 miles from each other (Rushden & Raunds) which allows us adaptability for the best breeding and flexibility to accommodate our growing projects.
We breed for health and temperament first and foremost as we want our mice to live the best, longest lives possible and gives us a solid base to work type from. Our aim is to breed show type mice with great health and fantastic temperaments.
Please bare in mind that this is an ongoing project and as such there may be a several month wait for certain lines. Please let us know if there is anything in particular you would like and we can add you to our waiting list.
Sometimes there will be options to rehome retiring breeders also, so just keep an eye out.

We will be posting regular pictures and updates of current projects so please keep an eye out and feel free to message us with any queries 😊
