BFAS - Brook Farm Animal Sanctuary

BFAS - Brook Farm Animal Sanctuary visit our website for more information www.bfas.org.uk Family run Vegan animal sanctuary rescue. Brook Farm Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to caring for animals.

To rescuing them from cruelty, hardship, and neglect. To ensure they live out the remainder of their natural lives in the optimum physical and psychological comfort. Rehoming them when possible but always overseeing their care. We have a non-destruct policy except on veterinary advice and where all else has failed. In some instances, where the animals have special needs, very old, or have persona

lity disorders, we guarantee them care and protection, as well as a home with us for the remainder of their lives. Animals we deal with include the following but are not limited to: dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, ponies, goats, sheep, pigs, cows, chickens, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, all kinds of wildlife etc..

Polly in my pocket trying to teach Simon and Rupert the trick of raiding peoples pockets for treats! Spoilt girl Polly still thinks she should be living in the house! She came to us at 1 day old after mum rejected her (Kade). She’s now almost 9 years old and hasn’t gotten out of her lamb phase ❤️

Gatsby was rehomed eight years ago with three of his friends to a lovely home in a local village. Unfortunately he has become aggressive towards his people and sheep friends in his old age so has come back to us at the sanctuary. We will access his temperament over the next few weeks and find a place for him to fit in. Maybe Julia will take to him!

Little Evie is home and straight in for her afternoon grub! ❤️ she should be more comfortable as the eye was very painful. Thank you for everyone’s care and support. She’s on painkiller and antibiotics.
Thank you Sophie and team from Swanspool vets for taking care of Evie.

Please keep Evie in your thoughts as she has her op this morning to remove the eye. Sadly it couldn’t be saved.

TW. Poor little Evie has ruptured her eye. She is having treatment at the vets. We are not sure at this point if the eye can be saved, we should know more in a few days after the antibiotics have taken effect. We think she has injured it from a sharp piece of hay. We will keep you updated.🤞 the eye can be saved.

It has been a very difficult morning at the sanctuary. We found Cally collapsed this morning having seizures. We called our vet immediately. We are heartbroken to say she is no longer with us 💔 we are still processing her death. It came as an unexpected shock as she showed no signs of illness.
Cally was known for her moods but also had a very affectionate side if she knew you. We rescued ber in 2013 when she threw her owner off. The owner had arranged to have her shot but we managed to get there first. It turns out she had kissing spine! We raised the money to have her back surgery and gave her months of physio and she spent the last ten plus years happily retired with her friends sunbathing and not having to work or be ridden to the extreme. We and your horse friends will miss you so much Cally.

We hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas. Pip and Bonnie are becoming firm friends ❤️

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! 📢
After months of agonising we have made the decision to investigate the possibility of relocating the sanctuary.
Our dream is and always has been to expand the sanctuary and to rescue more animals. Due to all the new builds up to our boundaries there is no capacity to expand where we are.
We have also for some time been dealing with noise/smell complaints from a few individuals from the new estates that surround us and fireworks going off over our fields terrifying the animals! This is a huge move and will take some time to organise if it’s at all possible. We will keep everyone updated every step of the way.
We will be staying as local as possible. This will not be an easy thing to do for us as years of hard work, love and memories make this place so special, along with wonderful local support.
A lot of wonderful animals have called Brook farm their home and many had the chance of a new life.
Please be aware it’s business as usual and the work of the sanctuary continues unabated.
We thank everyone for the support and look forward to inviting you all on the next chapter of our journey together.
