E collar training results Happy owners happy dogs that’s all I care about! Previously these two could never be off lead due to their high prey drive. Everyone happy and safe! No cheese or 50ft long line needed. Well done guys
Opinions change
When I first started training these little man eaters were not a popular breed.
Over the years dachshunds have become a popular little dog and in my honest opinion I couldn’t stand them. They were just not the dog for me.
But
Over the last few years I have increasingly loves working with them and now I bloody love the buggers ❤️🐕
They all have their funny little tenacious personalities.
I have been working with Blue here for a few weeks as he has some reactivity towards dogs but will have made some huge steps, even having him off lead around my Jet and khan.

Better work on khans outs 😂🚑
Residential Wallace
Wallace’s owners contacted me last year in regards to his lead reactivity towards dogs.
Wallace spent a month with me on an intense residential. With some clarity in handling and managing collar training he’s now able to live a happy life after being told to euthanise as other training had failed.
His owners didn’t want to go down that route so that’s when we had a conversation.
We spent a good three hours going over all new commands and e collar training.
This was Wallace Sunday with dogs off lead in the park and around my girl jet.
Is this Fixed? Yes & No
This is now all about his owners putting in the work and proofing the desired behaviours.
There will be some that want to see Wallace shut down because he’s had corrections and e collared conditioned.
But in reality you can see he’s living his best life off lead. Ask his owners what he was like with me personally.
Unfortunately we cannot control the uncontrollable like other dogs running over etc but we do have control of what we can do with our dogs.
Can’t wait to see his progress
My new training packages are all set to been sent out to those that have enquired this evening.

When the teacher becomes the student
Some of you may recognise Tumi from around wellington and I can honestly say he is one of the nicest people I ever met.
I’ve known Tumi since the age of 5/6 when I started playing rugby.
He was one of those coaches that believed in me and always followed my career.
Now it was my turn to teach him how to teach his new lovable rouge how to LLW as he was a steam train.
This is by no means a proofed behaviour but with the right guidance, handling and lead pressure technique these guys should be able to walk side by side loving life together.
Well done guys
And thanks for not sending me off every time I was a little sh*t on the rugby pitch which was very rarely 💁🏼♂️

Some of you have been asking where khan has been. Here he is killing down stays with distraction
My boy ❤️
Decent venison leg hold from my boy khan 🐕
That’s a decent hold even if it’s a venison leg 🐕
Popped into the Salon yesterday and met this little EMO haha
Downs
Sorry I’ve been quiet over the last few weeks I have a lot going on behind the scenes.
One of my young protection dogs in training for a client here and she’s doing super well with her obedience.
See so many dogs chucked on bite tables and back ties and with any dog that likes to bite it’s easy but many lack the ability to have a protection dog have high level obedience.
Any dick can Chuck a pillow around.
Will get back to messages when I can.

Tiny the Great Dane
Yesterday I travelled up the motorway to see these guys.
Tiny has a few issues from pulling to reactivity.
Tiny doesn’t get out much as he is a very large dog to control and when he kicks off things can become dangerous.
I was asked to help with his pulling and reactivity but this session was more about the handler.
We needed control to train. Tiny learnt that using his body pressure he could do and go wherever he wanted.
He’s currently on a gentle leader and as you can see there’s nothing gentle about. Personally I hate the tool as he goes around a dogs face which most dogs will hate.
But because there are marketed as a gentle leader it should be fine to use. Bollocks !!!
I suggested using pinch collar and once I explained how the tool works and how to use it the difference was enormous.
Using pressure release technique and positive reinforcement, Tiny was walking lovely. He even walked past a field of goats he normally pulls towards.
Any tool can be aversive ! Don’t be fooled by the ff community spouting their science says bullsh*t.
For me this was about safety!!! Now we have physical control we can start to counter condition his response to other dogs.
Due to under exposure Tiny has some slight reactivity which we will be looking at in a few weeks.
Great session and what a dog 🐕
Down stays with increased distance.
This is not recall training !!!! This is Impulse control without distractions.
Super happy with khan’s speed! Weighted shuttle and parachute runs are paying off.
