Douglas Dog has put his Santa outfit on as he wants to look Christmassy when he reminds everyone that it's just two more sleeps until any friendly pets and their humans can come along and take their photos with Santa Paws in his grotto in Natural Pets in Queen Street from 10-1 & 2-4. There will be a gift from Santa for all pets, no need to book and no charge for visit or gift. 🎅

Santa Paws and his elves had a wonderful time last Saturday with lots of lovely friendly dogs coming to see him, and the dogs brought lots of friendly people with them as well! We also had some adorable bunnies who snuggled up beautifully on Santa’s lap for their photos. Santa is with us again this Saturday, 9th Dec, from 10 till 1 & 2 till 4, so if you would like to come and take pictures of your pet meeting Santa and receiving a gift then please come along. No need to book, and no charge for visit or treats. 🎅

This is a bit of Christmas fun and it’s completely free of charge for you to come along with your pets and take photos of them receiving a gift from Santa. 🎅

A huge THANK YOU to all our customers for continuing to support us. We are all really looking forward to seeing you in the coming year and send wishes from all of us to all of you for a lovely and Happy Christmas with a fun New Year.
The changes to our opening hours over the holiday weeks are as follows:
On 24th December - Christmas Eve - we are closing at 4pm.
We are closed on the 25th, 26th & 27th December for Christmas day and the Bank Holiday days.
Open normal hours from Wednesday 28th, 9am till 5pm as usual.
For New Year - we are closing on Saturday 31st December - New Years Eve - at 4pm.
We are closed on 1st & 2nd January.
Then completely back to our usual hours (9am till 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays) from Tuesday 3rd January.

A reminder that sadly, the Post Office counters in the shop will close on Friday 1st July at 4.30pm. We are obviously very disappointed that after all the work of putting the counters in, my health has decided to be very un-cooperative and I have had to resign. Regrettably, we have found that the level of remuneration paid by the Post Office makes it simply not viable for the business to employ someone else to cover working the hours needed to replace me in the role of sub postmaster.
The Post Office have arranged a replacement temporary service in the bus station office which opens on Tuesday 5th July at 1pm while they continue to look for a more permanent location.
A huge “Thank You” to the many lovely customers who have come in to the Post Office counters and been polite and friendly. We will genuinely miss seeing you, although we certainly won’t miss seeing the rude and unpleasant ones!!
The pet shop remains open as usual and while we re-jig the shelves & displays to reclaim all the shop floor space for pet items, if you can’t find any of the products you are looking for, please just ask – everything will still be there somewhere.

This is from all of us in the pet shop to wish each of our customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and to pass on a very big Thank You everyone for coming in and supporting us. Our Christmas and New Year changes in opening hours are as follows:
Christmas Eve - Pet Shop closes at 4pm (Post Office closes at 12.30pm) then we are closed until Wednesday 29th Dec when we are back to 9am till 5pm.
New Years Eve - Pet Shop closes at 4pm (Post Office closes at 12.30pm) then we are closed until Tuesday 4th January when we are back to our usual 9am till 5pm. Take care everyone and keep well from Nigel, Heather, Sam, Jane, Yvonne and Zac. ️

Post Office counters update - The Post Office installation team have advised us that they are expecting to complete their remaining tasks on Monday morning (6th Sept) so that the counter positions can open by 1pm. Our staff have received some introductory training which will continue under the guidance of a Post Office training supervisor once the tills are open. Please be patient with us while we are learning - we will all be doing our very best to learn as quickly as we can! Business is all as usual for our pet shop customers with the separate till remaining in place.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - We will continue to require customers to wear face coverings & use the hand sanitiser whilst visiting our shops after the 19th July. This is to protect our customers, staff and the vulnerable. With new variants & cases still rising we feel it is necessary to offer support & protection to those who are more vulnerable or yet to receive their vaccinations. Your co-operation and understanding is appreciated. Thank you

An update on introducing Post Office services into the shop - Subject to final approval after completion of the Public Consultation which runs until 27th July, we are anticipating having two counter positions open to provide a range of Post Office services from 6th September. These tills will be located on the left hand side of the front area of the shop with plenty of room for customers to queue inside, although we will do our very best to keep any queues as short as possible. They will both be multi purpose till positions, so, if for example, customers require some envelopes, a bag of bird feed and a book of stamps, there will be no need to queue twice. We are still keeping all the same pet products in the shop - just moving them back a bit - and there will be a separate till on the right hand side of the shop for customers who do not require any Post Office services to ensure we keep our pet shop customer service level unchanged. Apologies however to our customers for the bit of a muddle the shop will be in over the next few weeks while we move all the shelves and products round - thank you for bearing with us through this!
