Cody the labrador puppy, had a large lump come up under his chin, after some investigation and an ultrasound examination Vet Rosie found this tiny grass awn to be the cause of everything.
Check ours and Buddy's Rural Animal Rescue BRAR for more information and pictures of a very happy puppy following the successful removal.

Other than that, we will be open as usual and of course, we are always here for you with our 24/7 out of hours emergency service.
Please remember to be aware of (especially edible) hazards to your pets during the festive season.
Wishing you - and your pets - a very Merry Christmas from the team at Shepton and Wells Vets.
Izzy’s owner called us on Sunday morning because she had become acutely lame after a walk. Vet Kishan and Nurse Cara noticed a small wound on her paw pad, which was very painful to touch.
They admitted her for investigations and found a small splinter of glass wedged right up in her paw pad. Once it was out, Izzy was woken up, had a fancy dressing applied and is now doing well.
Chase, a 2 year old spaniel, had become very agitated after a walk, shaking his head a lot and and pawing at his left ear. He didn't want anyone to go near it - it was obviously very sore. Vet Martin suspected there was something in there so lightly sedated Chase to have a good look. Using a pair of crocodile forceps, he gently pulled out a grass seed!
Nurse Cara's video of a grass seed being removed from Buddy the cocker spaniel's paw has had over 1 million views on TikTok!
When Buddy developed a large, painful swelling on his paw, it wasn't immediately obvious what was causing it. Vet Sarah examined him under sedation and discovered the tiny track where the grass seed had burrowed right down into his pad, fishing deep to dig it out.
Buddy's now feeling much better!
