Vet Polly had a interesting consultation recently at our Wells branch. Poor Archie arrived in practice limping and uncomfortable when touching his paw. Polly admitted him for further investigations. Watch the video below to see what was found 👀 It’s a good one!!

Shepton and Wells Vets Are sponsoring the 2024 Shepton mallet fireworks event.
We choose to sponsor this local charity event because we want to encourage a singular organised firework display, we hope that people attend this event rather than host their own garden displays spread across the local area on various nights.

We do our best to provide clients and pet owners with tips and ideas on how to prepare beforehand and how to keep animals calm during the event via our social media outlets. More tips coming this week.

We appreciate that we will never be able to stop fireworks happening, but our intent is to have a display that is less than 30mins on a known night that allows pet owners to prepare and plan for this one night of the year.

Callum started at Shepton Vets 10 years ago helping in kennels, restocking, cleaning kits and uniforms on a saturday. Progressing to veterinary care assistant before training as a veterinary nurse and is now one of our senior nurses and a clinical coach for our trainee nurses.

We feel like we’ve seen him grow up and are all very proud of him!

After a long busy day yesterday in Shepton he is enjoying some treats today while working in Wells!

An amazing way end to the week with a huge thank you to Marge for
20 years service.

Many people will recognise Marge as she was front of house as part of the client care team, then more recently moving behind the scenes and remaining an important part of the Shepton and Wells Vets team

Here’s something you may not have seen before!

Nala has heterochromia - this is caused by a harmless, isolated genetic mutation. This mutation affects the way that the body makes, transports and stores melanin, which is the pigment that gives colour to eyes 👀

Her vision is not affected and she is a typical loving and bouncy Labrador puppy!

Could your dog be a life saver?
Every unit of blood helps save up to four lives
Pet Blood Bank exists to help save the lives of pets in need. Pet Blood Bank UK was set up to support vets by providing a blood service for pets, just like the one we have as humans.

If you are interested, register here and a member of the team will get in touch to talk further about your dog and check their suitability to become a donor.
