Nice day training with Tabby & Raff, albeit a stressful trip on my accord 😂
Raff really surprised me he’s been tricky since just before Christmas with his very touchy sensitive way of going he gains in the winter but he was fab actually taking the bridle forward and not dropping behind, must have been auntie Lesley’s treatment on Monday …
Tabs was good, Jon may send video when he returns lol
Tabby at Somerford last week, she was this perfect the entire session she is one of a kind, always trusts to do anything I ask and has never been any different. Ready to find her forever home

My 3rd Horsey child Quinn, now a rising 5yo… she’s looking super after spending 6weeks in the field so I could have some Xmas down time, looking forward to really getting her going now, she did plenty of hacking at the end of last year and minimal arena time but first day back in and she’s like a seasoned pro
Also this happened on Monday…
Quickie my cool little homebred who I was enjoying clinics on last year had an unfortunate mishap whilst being an escape artist and broke his pedal bone, the fracture was unclear on the first x ray so following numerous abscesses it became evident there was a fracture the body was trying to remove, following much stress and heart ache knowing surgery is beyond my profit margin and my own horses are not insured Simon came up with a plan and some how removed a large piece of pedal bone through standing surgery, he is a very talented vet. So a few more weeks box rest and an abscess in the heel Mr Quickie finally seems comfortable and the foot is dry so after such a long time on box rest he deserves nothing more than a month out with his little brother before hopefully being able to start ridden work again 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 huge thank you to Simon for your efforts, much appreciated Lower House Equine Clinic
DAVE arrived this morning whilst Owner Connie is on Holiday so we were straight to work, I have been helping Connie with Dave’s retaining so it’s great to finally ride him and feel what our nexts steps should be, but to be honest he is exactly as I thought and again proves what a lovely genuine TB who just wants to please, as you can see he took a few attempts to find his feet but once he worked it out he really found the spring in his step

Test run on fergal whilst Dani is on a course, Dani and Ferg have spent the depth of winter with us to make things easier for Dani when she’s working lots of long night shifts, they head home this Friday so last spin and he’s feeling good,

Early start this morning to do the yard before coaching 25 eager combinations, but during morning stables I received this video of Millie & Tonto in the PT Novice at Larkhill Eventing early last year, no word of a lie it was the biggest novice iv seen in my career so given I was sending my 14yo around it I saw nothing of them bar the first and last fence and the video does no justice to how steep and undulating the course was. I shed more than a few tears watching it for the first time, just WOW …
Many thanks Camilla for working hard to get a frozen arena fit to ride on by 9am and allowing us to use your fab facilities, what a fabulous day we have had in the 🌞
Huge thank you to everyone for your continued support everyone was absolutely brilliant, so nice to see new and old faces.
Evening stables complete and now I don’t feel like I can move 😂

Didn’t let the rain spoil our day, Duke hasn’t been off the yard since October and I haven’t competed him since 2022 and that was brief then in between babies but whilst I have tried to help Millie with him I hadn’t dreamt he’d be like this again, resigned to the fact he has aged and is feeling it… how wrong was I? Thanks to Dorian he seems a different horse, he may never be flashy behind but if he’s trying I’m smiling and today we scored just over 67 & 68% at Elementary for 2 red frillies, so think next time we’ll give a medium test a bash, my first more complicated test in 4year 😬
Spoilt with the help of Dan and Saskia today, smug with one horse lol thanks girls

Feeling pretty doom and gloom with the weather on the hill, I just want to get 2025 underway but we are snowed in or iced in and I’m not a risk taker BUT to make up my time the yard has had a tidy up, wood piles moved and front yard cleared that had been bugging me since I don’t no when and to finish the mission THE A TEAM (DAD and I) I put the arena top up on…finally, it was still covered in snow when I started, it’s never been so frozen as it has recently and it’s never held the wet like it has been doing so really hoping todays efforts are really going to pay off over the next few days. I have numb thumps driving the quad and harrows around for 2 hours.
