A lot of my lovely customers asked, so I thought I'd share for everyone to see:

We attended🏆Crufts 2024🏆 on thursday, Biggest dog show in the world 🌎
I had the honour to step in the big arena (where they do the Best in Show), to compete with my own dog, Oreo, in the Junior Warrant final. A day to remember!!!

We also competed in the Lhasa Apso ring, Oreo in a huge and quality Open class of 20, where he got shortlisted.
Salsa competed in Limit, with 9 others, and she placed VHC (5th).
My niece Freya and Salsa also competed in the AV Utility Stakes
She did us all so very proud, she did a fabulous job handling my lil Salsa.
Congratulations to two of our lovely customers who also competed, Nico with a 2nd in Yearling, and Gaia with a 1st in Good Citizen.

This dog was regularly walked in the Northwood and Rickmansworth areas, and we want to ensure all pet owners are informed and vigilant. Alabama Rot is a rare but serious disease that can affect dogs, causing skin lesions and, in severe cases, kidney failure.

🐶 SIGNS TO WATCH OUT FOR:
Skin sores, especially on the paws, legs, and face
Lethargy or loss of energy
Vomiting or diarrhoea

🏥 WHY EARLY DETECTION MATTERS:
Alabama Rot is still not fully understood, making diagnosis and treatment challenging. Early detection and monitoring are crucial for the best possible outcome. If you notice any of these signs in your pet, please contact us immediately.

🤔 EDUCATION IS KEY:
We understand the concerns and questions you may have about Alabama Rot. Our team is here to provide information and support. We encourage all pet owners to stay informed about the disease and take preventive measures.

👀 HOW TO PROTECT YOUR PET:
Wash off mud and dirt after walks
Check your pet for any signs of sores or lesions

We would like to share with you all our little hobby: we groom our own dogs and travel all around the country (and sometimes Europe) to show them at Championship level!

This time it was the biggest dog show in the world, CRUFTS, which took place in Birmingham last weekend.

Our dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves and got placed 1st and 3rd 🥳
Needless to say that we are extremely proud of them!

IMPORTANT POST:

I'm in the process of booking everyone that asked me to for the whole year. Please bear with me, and check your email.
I'm sorry for the delay but I've been very poorly 🤒😷
If anyone forgot to ask us for their yearly bookings, now is the time. Comment here, text or WhatsApp ASAP with your surname, dogs name, breed, and preference of dates/times.

Also just to remind everyone that our opening hours have changed now from January 2023. We will be opened Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, closed Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

And last but not least, unfortunately due to the constant increase of cost of living and all our bills going sky high some grooms will have a price increase (also from January 2023).
This depends on every particular dog (how long they take, behaviour, coat type, etc), so if you'd like to know just text me. Otherwise we'll let you know on the day of your furkids groom 🐶

⭐️ Honestly when taking your dog to the groomers is paramount. Why? ⭐️

Our safety and livelihood can be taken away from us by your white lie just to get your dog groomed, in turn you are not doing your dog any favors by not preparing the groomer for what you know could happen during the session and in turn causing your dog further unnecessary stress.

In one day I have had two opposite ends of the spectrum, Someone who told me on booking the dog was fine and used to being groomed, I quickly found out different but was not prepared, If I was prepared We could have avoided placing a dog in a situation it clearly finds uncomfortable without measures to help and I could have avoided nearly having my face bitten when the dog lunged unexpectedly.

On the other end if the spectrum a dog who struggled with her last groom was an absolute star and so settled due to aspects we could easily change with notice and planning and teamwork with her owners.

I think a lot of owners don’t want to tell us their dog dislikes the grooming process or bites incase we do not want to groom them, but by taking this decision away from us as groomers, your take away our safety and risk our whole career.
Most groomers are self employed and can not work if they were to be injured, leaving us in a very difficult position. And in some cases meaning we can no longer groom at all.

But ultimately it should be our choice if we decide to groom an aggressive dog or not, it should not be a surprise when the owner already knows about the dog’s behavior. Multiple times I have been told a dog is fine on drop off then when you are honest and say they have not been we are told “oh yes he does that” or “yes she can bite sometimes” THIS IS NOT OK!

There are plenty of groomers out there who will work with dogs that struggle for the grooming process and more times than none we will be happy to refer you to someone who can help your dog if we cannot, many groomers specialize in different areas and aspects of grooming especially difficult dogs and some dogs just need a different environment where as others need a lot of desensitization and holistic methods.

Lets break the myth that it is our job just to deal with an aggressive dog, whatever the reason for the aggression there are ways to help but not being honest is never the way, we always want what is in your dogs best interests so talk to us and if we feel that is too much for us, trust we are not “lazy” or “not doing our job” we actually want your dog to have the experience it needs to heal and will help in any way we can if we are prepared.

A good groomer/client relationship is built on honesty, trust and teamwork. 👍🏻
