Let’s talk Neck spasms in horses 🎙️🐴-Neck spasms can arise from various factors and can be the reason why your horse has behavioural issues, stiffness, inability to soften/bend aswell most likely holding their head and neck in unusual angles or lowered positions to avoids discomfort within the neck. -Neck spasms in horses can arise from various factors, including;1. Over exertion during exercise or improper training techniques can lead to muscle strain.2. Poor posture or horses that have poor riding techniques may develop muscle tension or spasms.3. Any traumatic event such as a fall, kick or pull back from a tie rope can cause immediate muscle spasms as the body reacts to pain. 4. Degenerative joint disease affecting the cervical vertebrae can result in inflammation and muscle spasms.5. Nerve compressions such as wobblers or other neurological diseases can compress nerves in the neck leading to spasms. 6. Stress and anxiety can contribute to muscle tensions and spasms. Physiotherapy and targeted exercises such as likit stretches can improved flexibility and strengthen muscles in the neck. By understanding the causes, symptoms and treatment, proactive steps can be taken to ensure horses health and well being 🐴
7 year old Charlie competing the other day, taking the win in the bluechip novice qualifier. After a year and half off competing due to completing my degree Charlie is certainly enjoying being back out. Qualifying for 2 bluechip championship classes in only 3 shows. We’re definitely still a little rusty around the edges but it’s great to have my main man back out competing🏆❤️

Look at those sleepy eyes after activating the endogenous opioid system on Julian. Julian suffers with chronic thoracolumbar pain after performing coverings. We spent our session mainly focusing on relieving symptomatic pain through his back by incorporating TENS to help us activate the opioid system, activating the opioid system has a natural analgesic effect to reduce pain and provide complete relaxation 🥰🤍 we then finished our session with some stretches and left Julian to relax and enjoy the benefits of his physiotherapy🤍
