Hopefully we’re out and about soon but ….. this is our track! Currently it’s open only because the farmer is coming up daily on the quadbike or tractor to see the sheep. There’s a LOT of snow to go before I’m driving down (and up)
We’re all ok though and have only just started on the freezer! The dogs are definitely loving it - and then returning to snooze by the fire 🔥.

Spraying detangling spray and then using the whisk helps a bit but I’ve honestly never seen Rufus struggle so much as he did this lunchtime!

Anybody else have ideas for managing snow with longer haired dogs (Duke doesn’t have the same problem and is loving it!)

So, who else is weather watching this week? ❄️🥶❄️🥶
This is a timely reminder that we live half way up the fell and up a steep unmade track so are quite dependent on weather - if we get snow then it can cause changes. I’m sure it’s not going to be too bad this week, though it’s definitely looking like a cold one!

Hello, I’m Verity and I am the person behind Wear Happy Hounds! I live in Westgate, Weardale with Mark, my partner, and Tinker and Rufus our 2 hounds.

Dogs have always been a major part of my life and I consider myself very lucky to be able to spend so much time both with my own dogs, but also with so many dogs. I provide personal, friendly and professional dog grooming and walking services to dogs in Weardale. I work in a small salon at my home, working with only YOUR dogs so am able to provide a calm and relaxed environment for them.
