Nadia is featured in this week’s Take a Break magazine, you can read all about the amazing work she does at her hedgehog rescue, she’s a real star! It’s so lovely to see so many of our TLC intensive care units in use.
💛 ⭐️ 💛

My fame! My article in this week's Take a Break magazine. I very please with it despite a few missing dates and timeliness. This story is over a time period of 16 years.
I'm so pleased with my rescue just now. Hopefully one day I'll be able to move to a new premises and make it even better. But lots of fundraising needed!

Enjoy my wee story, pop out and buy a copy . Nadia x

A reminder for all Brinsea TLC users out there.

We just wanted to post some information about the use of incubators and oxygen after chatting to a hedgehog rescue and also seeing a post on Instagram of an oxygen tube being fed into a Brinsea TLC.

Elevated oxygen concentration can be a vital tool in the successful recovery of animals from a variety of conditions but when combined with other elements of an intensive care unit (electronics, fans, heaters, etc.) it can pose a very real fire risk if the hazards aren’t properly controlled and the intensive care unit isn't especially designed for this purpose.

Incubators need to conform to the oxygen fire safety clauses of the current EN 60601-1:2006 + corrigenda 2006 & 2007 standard (to get very technical). Only Brinsea's Vetario T40M and T50M incubators conform to this standard and have been assessed by BSI as being appropriate for the risks involved.

Please do not use oxygen in your TLC incubator. If you want to purchase an incubator that you can use oxygen with please visit our dedicated Vetario website: www.vetario.co.uk - the 'M' (medical) oxygen compatible incubators are more expensive to buy, but they have additional technology and safety features built in to ensure they comply with current regulations for oxygen use. Other manufacturers produce machines that claim to be compatible with oxygen, but please do your research first to confirm that they fully comply with current legislation.

If you have any questions about oxygen use or incubators in general please message us.

🌻 A ROBIN REDBREAST IN A CAGE, PUTS ALL HEAVEN IN A RAGE 🌻

A great quote by one of my favourite artists!!

Luckily for this little one, he won't be in cage for very long. On fact, he's currently in one of our invaluable Brinsea TLC Intensive Care Units.

He joined the ranks today after being found on the ground with no other birds in sight for most of the day. The finder did the exact right thing and attempted to find the nest he might have come from, and when he couldn't- he monitored to see if there were any parents nearby.

These strong winds have played havoc with the new born babies in their nests, blowing them out completely or damaging them making it difficult for the nests to support the babies.

If you find a damaged nest, or a baby alone on the ground please give us a call for advice. We will only take them in of all other avenues have been exhausted. There is no better way to raise a baby, then with their own mother after all.

For this little Robin, he will join the regular feeds throughout the day and hopefully grow big and strong and be ready for release in the not so distant future!

We are now at the point where 2000 waxworms have lasted just over 2 weeks- the ducklings eat them, the baby garden birds eat them, the corvids eat them, the pheasants eat them and actually our little Dormouse guest even has 2 a day 🤣

We used a site last year for frozen waxworms which worked out to be cheaper and they did last a little longer.

If you would like to help us by donating towards an order, please use our paypal link and use 'WAXWORMS' as the reference so we can make sure we use your generosity for it's intended purpose!
https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=PLSFQKYHADYMU

I'll put the link to the site here, but they are expensive per box so we absolutely don't expect anyone to be ordering boxes! Just so you can see what we would be buying ❤️

Thank you all for your continued support, the animals and us appreciate all of you!

A fabulous photo! We know these incubators are going to get lots of use. 💛

We want to say a huge THANK YOU!☺️

Late last year, we launched our ‘Hope for Wildlife this Winter’ appeal and, once again, you, our amazing supporters, have not let us down. Through your incredible support and generosity, we have been able to purchase the first of many life-saving pieces of equipment. With the additional support of Brinsea Products Ltd , we were able to invest in 20 of their state of the art incubators.
These incubators will be vital in our efforts to save collapsed and orphaned patients, whilst making our vet team more efficient and effective in caring for them.

Our appeal currently sits at 94%; in addition to these incubators, we are hoping to purchase two new aviaries and holding pens for the thousands of birds that we see coming through our doors.

As we continue to make plans for the new centre, we're ensuring that the items we purchase, now, to help improve the care for our patients, will be transferable to the new site, when ready.

If you can help us reach our goal, please, click the link, below👇

Poppy is an 11-week-old badger cub transferred to us from a nearby veterinary practice. She is now undergoing intensive care, currently living in one of our new Brinsea incubators.

Purchasing Poppy’s current home and other pieces of equipment for our orphans has been made possible by everyone who kindly donated to our spring appeal, thank you🐾

This photo shows some incredibly lucky baby blue t**s. They were brought in to Secret World Wildlife Rescue on Saturday. They were found in the wing mirror of a horse box that had travelled 3 hours to get to an event! They had a real job getting them all out safely but all 8 made it. 🥰

Our Story

Brinsea's TLC intensive care incubators are the best place for weak and fragile baby animals to heal, hide, cuddle, and grow. Used around the world by rescues, conservation centres and breeding centres.

With hygiene a top priority for your animals, the Brinsea TLC models have been carefully designed to make cleaning as easy as possible. The lower half of the cabinets and doors are removable allowing them to be scrubbed and immersed. Airflow has been carefully optimized to ensure consistent distribution of heat, so that all animals are at the same temperature but with the fan maintaining gentle airspeeds so that any dust is not blown around. The TLC's light weight and portability means that the recovering animals can easily be moved to the quietest environment to reduce stress.

All Brinsea incubators are proudly made in Britain and come with a 3 year guarantee.
