Hey Everyone 👋🏼

Let's talk fleas!

It has been a while since I have had a flea case in the salon, but the pesky bu**ers are back with the warmer weather making an appearance every now and then. So there are a few things I ask of you as your dog groomer 😊

1. Please keep your dogs flea treated every month. Either by getting medication from your vets or the licensed medication you can purchase from pets shops like Pets at Home. Off the shelf medication is not strong enough to keep these little critters away, so I always would recommend the stronger stuff as mentioned above.
2. Please flea check your dogs regularly. Flea combs are easily purchased and not expensive. On a weekly basis, run the comb through your dogs coat to check for any fleas or flea dirt. See the attached picture of what flea dirt looks like. Flea dirt is a sign that your dog is carrying fleas. If you use a wet wipe or damp tissue to rub the flea dirt with, if it turns red/brown this confirms it is flea dirt as this is essentially dried blood they have pooped out after feeding off of your dog.
3. If you find fleas on your dog, please notify me as I can cancel/push on your apps until you have successfully eradicated your flea infestation.
4. You MUST treat your home as well as your dog when you have a flea infestation. Flea bombs & flea sprays for the home must be used to kill fleas and their eggs to stop the cycle also show in the pictures attached.
5. Please understand that if your dog comes to an appointment and is carrying fleas, I have to stop the groom and you must come and collect your pooch as soon as possible. There is a £10 flea charge as I will have to close the salon and deep clean/flea bomb to kill any fleas so it is safe for my customers.

I do my best to stop fleas spreading in my salon, but as long as your dogs are flea treated then no cross contamination will occur, as the flea will bite your dog, it will then be poisoned and die. This is how flea treatment works and must always be present in your dogs system to kill any fleas that try to live & feed off of them.

This little man has taken to the grooming process so well. It can take time for puppies to get used to being bathed, dried, brushed, scissored. That's why it's so important to get them booked in for puppy grooms as soon as they are vaccinated 😊

So earlier on the week we had a situation where someone was trying to take over my social media platforms, I'm not going to say the word because that apparently attracts more dodgy messages 😅

We have got everything back as far as we can see and control and we have put some measures in place so hopefully it won't happen again. Thank you for the customers who rearranged so we could tackle the situation and thank you for the support 🥰💖

How is January nearly over! 2024 please slow down 😅

I just thought I’d pop some information on here regarding appointments & my schedule.
🔸 Open Tuesday - Saturday (but not every Saturday)
🔸 Hours vary but generally 9-5pm plus 1 late opening a week
🔸 Client books are full but I do have the odd opening from time to time so I will contact people from my client waiting list as and when spaces become available
🔸 1-2-1 appointment basis unless dogs are from the same family

I generally won’t respond to messages on my days off or outside of work hours as I like to keep a work - life balance, but I do check messages when I can and respond as quick as I can. As my regulars will know, my memory is like a goldfish 😅 so please don’t hesitate on texting me again to remind me to respond. I am bloody awful for it, and I do apologise for that, but I will always try and make sure you are 2 appointments ahead of schedule so there is no panic about getting an appointment as and when you need it.

Merlin, our puppy, will now be around sometimes during appointments, I always check that this is ok with my clients, so make sure to mention it if your dog is not good with others and you would prefer them to be alone 😊

I would like to wish all my wonderful customers a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year 🥂🎅🎄

Since finishing grooming at 5pm on Saturday this is the time I've had a moment to put a post together, as we all know how busy preparing for Christmas can be 😅

It is a time of reflection with the new year fastly approaching and I still have to pinch myself as I still can't believe how well Pawhemian Pups has come along in 2023. And that is a big thanks to you guys as much as it is to myself. The hard work we have put into the salon isn't worth anything without having a loyal customer base so I just really want to say the biggest thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you for coming to me and trusting me with your wonderful pooches, thank you for continuing to rebook and use my services. Thank you for your kindness and generosity at this time of year ❤️

Normally Christmas is such a stressful time for a dog groomer with it being the busiest month of the year for us, and I would normally be mentally and physically drained and never could enjoy the holidays, but it is different now, because of how wonderful each and every one of you are 🥰 it makes such a difference when you have a lovely relationship with your clients.

The saying ' find something you want to do in life that makes you want to get out of bed every day, and doesn't feel like a chore' is exactly what I've found 🥰

So THANK YOU ❤️ and I will miss you all dearly this next week, and I'll see you in the New Year 🥂

Hey everyone, please read this post if you have an appointment in December 🎄🐶

So as some of you may know, December is a dog groomers busiest month getting your pooches all spruced up ready for Santa 🎅🏼 so here are a few things to consider which will be a massive help to me 💖

❄️ Punctuality - it is important to arrive on time to your appointment. All it takes is for one person to be running slightly late and it then has a knock on effect to the rest of my grooms that day. If you arrive early and can see I still have a client on the table, please wait in your car until you can see this dog has been collected. If I am running slightly behind schedule, I appreciate your patience as some times things do crop up and can effect my time schedule and I understand that from both sides. Please do prepare for busy traffic during rush hour times, the roads are terrible in my area at the moment.

❄️ Last minute cancellations - I would need at least 48 hours notice if you wish to cancel your appointment to avoid paying the last minute cancellation fee. I do have people on a waiting list for a Christmas appointment, so please give me as much notice as possible so I have time to contact someone else to fill the slot 😊 if you do cancel under the 48 hours notice period, there is a £20 fee that must be paid upfront. I really hope you understand that this is my only source of income and with little notice I won’t have enough time to fill that slot.

❗️FLEAS ❗️- please keep an eye out for these creepy critters! Remember to treat your dog on a monthly basis to avoid an infestation. Please can I ask my customers to flea check their dogs before visiting the salon. If I have a dog come into the salon with fleas, the dogs who are booked in for the rest of that day will be cancelled as I need to protect my customers at all costs from taking a flea infestation home. I would need to flea bomb the salon which means no dogs can be in the salon afterwards. This also means a massive loss of income and some unhappy clients who will not be Christmas fresh for santa ☹️

And lastly, please remember to not block our neighbours driveway 😊 either park on my drive, or block my drive way, but please do not park over the border as this does cause some issues if my neighbour needs to pull off their driveway.

I am so excited to see everyone for the Christmas period 😍 this is my 2nd Christmas as a business owner and I can’t thank you all enough for the continuous support and love from all my wonderful clients 💖

Throwback to some of my first few grooms in the salon last year 🥹😍 I can’t believe it’s nearly December! My 2nd Christmas in the salon 🎄 I have just ordered my Christmas bow ties & a few bandanas for those who like a little Christmas sparkle ✨

What a spooky morning it is! ☔️💀 I have a feeling some soggy customers will be turning up today 😅 here are some of my lovely clients who have visited in October 🎃

🌡️🥵☀️SUMMER IS HERE☀️🥵🌡️ We have had a new arrival in the salon! Here at Pawhemian Pups your dogs well being is our top priority, now the temperatures are starting rise we thought it might be worth investing in our very own industrial Aircon unit to keep your dog cool when visiting for their grooms ❄️🥶 Heat stroke is no joke and can seriously make your dog poorly, so remember, walk them early morning or late evening when the sun is not at its highest, keep them cool and hydrated prior to visiting the salon, and I do recommend bringing them in the car as oppose to walking them here if you are local, if your dog arrives overheated and showing early signs of heat stroke I will not be able to proceed with the groom for their own safety 🐶❤️ I will post below some information that will help you look out for signs of heat stroke and how to avoid it 🥰
