As a local - born & bred - pet companion dog trainer from a family of dog trainers running classes and offering 1-2-1s from a dedicated outdoor training area at Hadley Park, Whitchurch & indoors at Whitchurch Civic Centre Sports Hall. As an experienced, qualified & insured trainer I’m passionate about helping owners, dog guardians & dogs become the ‘dream team’ they choose to be, building confiden
ce & a great bond together through enjoyable reward based training. You’ll find support, smiles & an approachable attitude to training. I’m an enthusiastic trainer who also loves to help you understand your dog’s emotions, choices & behaviour. Many dream team’s have been training with me for years & it’s a fabulous way to spend time together. Right now in 2022, there are amazing, small groups meeting up for practical training. They also benefit from online videos & resources to help inspire & support them at home. Plus, I'm always there if they've got a question. Strictly K9 Dog Training is Kennel Club Listed to run the Good Citizen Dog Scheme. Every year hundreds of dogs and owners are able to join in at a level to suit them & progress. Puppies, adolescents, adult & senior dogs are all welcomed. I also offer 1-2-1 training which is a fabulous way to enjoy personalised training with less distractions. Looking for something different ? you can even get involved in training inspired by Canine Hoopers, Heelwork To Music or simply having fun wih your dog finding what they enjoy from retrieving, to tricks or sniffy games. Due to the pandemic following an initial chat you might be invited to join me online or outdoors in person; based on latest guidelines & Covid-19 safe working practices.

We will have a break for you to all enjoy the Summer. We will continue offering options for young puppies in July and August and Canine Hoopers 1-2-1s in August.

Each and every guardian and dog team are valued and it’s really about simply enjoying our sessions together and understanding how training can be applied in the real world, at home or out and about.
Supporting each other, looking for clues or insights, identifying opportunities and then finding the right approach, introduced at the right pace or moment in time. Always remembering to have fun and enjoy each special moment we all share at class.

We aim to offer a provision for continual learning and support in small, friendly groups to help nurture you and your dog on your journey. Activities are tailored and also work towards The Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Dog Scheme. We have regular breaks from classes and offer regular follow on short courses daytime, evening and weekend held in Whitchurch Civic Centre’s Sports Hall and outdoors at Hadley Park. 1-2-1s also available.
All dogs must be vet checked, up to date with vaccines and happy to work around other people and dogs.

As we approach half term, those ready are invited to take assessments for The Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Dog Scheme. Assessments are always a reflection of what we’ve worked towards in class and practiced at home or out and about.
Life skills across many aspects of dog ownership are covered in small classes. This time of year many groups also get to train both indoors and outdoors.
Interested ? Feel free to to come and observe a group, trial a group or simply chat to me about what we do. With around 12 classes running there’s lots of options to help you get started.

“The Kennel Club Good Citizens Scheme Bronze Award has provided Mabel an opportunity to socialise and learn new skills in a fun environment. Even though this is my third dog to do the scheme with Strictly K9 I have enjoyed every minute. It has made me revisit the basics and also learn new dog training techniques. Melissa adapts each lesson to meet the individual dogs needs which makes it very enjoyable. Silver here we come.” (Lesley & Mabel)

Designed for puppies 5 months or under at the start who are able to safely mix in public and ready to attend group training which is designed to help develop appropriate life skills and confidence in a kind way.

Can you spot Oti’s personal touch in her sendaway to an unusual marker? She offers this all by herself and all our hearts just melt watching her don’t they. Oti loves target training. Last term she quickly learnt to ring a bell with her paw too.
Some dogs are real water babies. Just like adorable Charlie here who comes to classes. Even a little bit of water in a paddling pool, washing up bowl or tray can be refreshing to paddle, play or forage in. Seek shade, hang out indoors in the cool or ditch those walks at warm times of day and chill 😎 like Charlie. 🐾 How is your dog keeping chilled ? Feel free to show or tell us how.
Hello sunshine ☀️ Looking forward to introducing Canine Hoopers over the coming months with lots of my lovely clients.
Interested in trying something new ? I’ve been enjoying Canine Hoopers with my dogs and some of my clients for a few years now and as an Accredited Canine Hoopers UK instructor can also guide you and your dog through an introduction to this low impact, free flowing and fun dog sport.
