06.03.22: Out on the boys third and final walk of the day and the ☀️ has decided to smile on us properly for the first time. Yay! 🥳
So here’s a chilled little 🎞 of Hobo💕 (speckled), Rolf💕 (brown) and Nick💕 being their lovely😘 selves as we made our way around the 🌾second field🌾.
You’ll see Hobo being super cute ☺️, and Rolf using his nose to find his 🎾, while Nick proudly carried his around ###
06.03.22: An afternoon game of tug-of-war between Amie and Hobo💕. Nick💕 tried to join in but it wasn’t his game, and that’s Rolf💕 going after his ball🎾.
Oh and if you’re wondering why Amie says “dead”, it’s because these three are working gun dogs and that’s the word they’ve been taught to release whatever is in their mouths ###
04.03.22: Little vid from Rolf💕 (brown), Hobo💕 (speckled) and Nick’s💕 third walk of the day. We started in the 🌾first field🌾 and of course it was time to play 🎾😋 and burn that energy but with structure for their minds 🧠.
The boys know to wait, and give us their eye contact 👀 for as long as we want them to before we throw their toys 🧸🎾 for them. This is really important as it encourages patience, self-control, and respect, and it’s not teasing them because they’re always gonna get their toys, we just expect good behaviour from them first. And they are all very good at it! 👍😘👍😘👍😘
Hobo was not too fond of the weather 🌧 though, can you tell? 😂
He was only doing about 30 mins each walk instead of the hour like the younger boys.
He’s 11 and that’s perfectly okay with us mister 😘 ###
03.03.22: Here’s the-as Amie refers to them in this vid-old man, the little one and the middle child, also known as Hobo💖, Rolf💖 and Nick💖.
All three boys enjoying 😁😜themselves in the drizzly weather 🌧 in the 🌾second field🌾, on their third walk of the day.
Not long after this vid, Hobo came back inside to be dried and chill with me (he’d been out about 30ish mins) and the other two finished their hr with Amie ###
03.03.22: Cute 🥰 vid of Nick💕 (black), Rolf💕and Hobo💕 (speckled) on their 3rd walk of the day, making their way around the first field, playing 🎾😋 on the way.
All handsome 😍 boys 😘😘😘 ###
03.03.22: Late afternoon and it was time for Rolf💖 (brown), Nick💖 (black) and Hobo’s💖 3rd daily walk.
Here they are starting off in the 🌾first field🌾, not bothered a jot by the dreary weather 🌧😩.
They love ❤️ their toys 🧸🎾 and will never say no to a game😋.
Even Hobo who is 11 can still hold his own when he’s in the mood👍! ###
03.03.22: Tug-of-war 🧸 between Nick💕 (black) and Rolf💕 part two.
While Hobo💕 lay with me on the couch and enjoyed 😁 some ❤️ ###
03.03.22: Early morning game of tug-of-war 🧸 between walks.
Who you gonna put your 💷 on? Rolf💕 (brown) or Nick💕?
Place your bets before you watch the 🎞, 😂 ###
Hey people, I’m back 😃👋
Still pushing on to post again. I know it’s very stop and start so apologies for that. Gonna finish up the posts from our trip (in March) to the 🌾🌼countryside🌼🌾 where we looked after the three gorgeous 😍 working spaniels 🐶🐶🐶 we’d had the pleasure of taking care of twice before.
So here we go:
03.03.22: Funny 😜 little vid from our 7am walk. Rolf💖 managed to get the 🎾 first this time round. They do have one each but Rolf tends to run for any ball that’s thrown and this time he was able to out run Nick💖. Or maybe not. Maybe Nick just overshot, 😂.
But as you can see Nick really wanted the ball, and on the second run he won it fair and square.
And little old man Hobo💖 was happy😁 just having a gentle plod, sniffing and peeing and following us round 🥰 ###
02.03.22: 11 year old Hobo💕 joining in the game 🎾 again. It’s lovely 🥰 watching him play 😜.
And it’s great watching them all (Nick💕 (black) and Rolf💕 (brown)) using their noses to try and find the missing ball. Look how happy 😁 they all are ###
02.03.22: Some more playing 🎾🤪🧸 for the gorgeous Rolf💕 (brown), Nick💕 (black) and Hobo💕 on their 2nd walk of the day ###
02.03.22: Three happy 😁 boys heading round the 🌾first field 🌾 at the start of their 2nd walk of the day.
Hobo💖 (speckled), Rolf💖 (brown) and Nick💖.
Oh and you gotta love Rolf’s bounces, 😂 ###
02.03.22: Lush 🥰 vid of 11 year old Hobo💖 actually joining in the run with younger brothers Nick💖 (4yrs, black) and Rolf💖 (9ish months, brown).
He walked around the 🌾fields🌾, and garden and paddock with us multiple times a day, and had a couple of short runs for his toy 🧸, but this was the first time he wanted to have more of a run😜.
But we have to be careful with him, so he only did a couple of runs then went back to the gentle walk again ###
02.03.22: Out for their hr long afternoon walk and they started in the 🌾first field🌾. Enjoy this vid of Nick (black)💕 and Rolf💕 having a good run after their 🎾s, and Hobo💕 chilling around Amie.
He’s 11 years old and so he’s at perfect liberty to take all the time ⏰ he likes 👍 😘😘😘 ###
02.03.22: Up and out at 07:00 again 🥱 with the 🐶🐶🐶 for about 45 mins 😜🎾, then they were dried and fed, and chilled for a few hrs before going out again for their second walk of the day.
Here’s a little 🎞 of Hobo enjoying some ❤️ during the boys “chill” time ###
March 1st late afternoon: Challenging 🧠 Nick (black)💖 and Rolf’s💖 self control and patience.
These are working dogs and they love their jobs but it can bring a lot of excitement🤪, so it’s really good for their minds to also teach them to wait, so their level of excitement can decrease a little and also become more focused.
That’s exactly why the majority of the time we throw their 🎾s for them they have to sit, and wait and give us their eye contact 👀. They don’t ❎ get it if they’re flying around jumping at us, or pacing, or whining.
We may also back away from them and have them wait (more challenging as their natural reaction is to follow) and then come to us before throwing the ball. Or we may back far away and just throw it from there. Or get them to come to us and gently take it from our 🤚✋.
Or as demonstrated in this vid 🎞, getting them to wait and placing the 🎾s on the ground out of sight and then asking them to find them. They struggled a little as you can see but it’s just about persisting and waiting for them to get it. Which they did 👍
Oh and that’s old man Hobo💖 just taking it easy, toy 🧸 in mouth ###
March 1st late afternoon: Little vid 🎞 of the boys leaving the 🌾second field🌾 to head into, and walk round the edge of the 🌾first field🌾 to continue their walk.
That’s Nick💕 first in shot, and Rolf💕 finding his 🎾 to carry it out and Hobo💕 bless him already at the top of the hill thinking he was gonna go home, 😂. No mister, not quite yet ###
Late afternoon March 1st: the boys and Amie moved into the 🌾second field🌾 to continue their walk.
This vid gives you a little example of a dogs nose at work. Rolf💕 (brown) and Nick💕 searched for the 🎾 and enjoyed 😜 a good chase, while 11yr old Hobo💕 took it easy and enjoyed some ❤️🥰 toy in mouth ###
Sorry for the pause. Here’s the rest of how we spent our week away with these beautiful 🐶🐶🐶.
Afternoon March 1st: The boys rested for close to 3hrs then it was go time again.
Amie took them out for another 1.5hrs. Well the younger two. Hobo💖 again did about 45ish mins and then came inside with me to be dried and then go to sleep 😴.
Here’s the boys having fun 😜 at the start of their walk in the first field and this time it was Rolf💖 that was the 🎾 thief, 😂. And that’s Nick💖 running with him ###
