The story of perseverance and patience 💚

I cared for Streaky (and his two cat brothers) for 2 weeks. Some days I didn't see Streaky at all, others I would only see a quick glimpse of his face before he darted off to hide. I carried on talking to him, giving him space and going at a slow pace. For days I would just sit at the bottom of the stairs and talk to him (whether I could see him or not). I almost resigned myself to the fact that he was just too frightened to get any further.
Perseverance really paid off as almost 2 weeks later (almost right at the end of the booking) he allowed me to approach. I had to go upstairs to refresh water bowls and clean a litter tray and he didn't run from me. He sniffed me and walked off. The next visit he met me half way and made it clear he wanted me to touch him (rubbed his cheeks on my fingersand hand to scent mark me).. As soon as this happened, Streaky never looked back. We were friends! Every visit after he followed me around the house, wanted a lot of fuss and even came onto my lap!
This really goes to show you that patience and perseverance with timid and shy cats goes a long way.

Also, look at those GORGEOUS green eyes!

Monty 🖤🤍

In March I had the pleasure of looking after Monty and his two brothers for 2 weeks. It took his brothers a while to come round to me, however Monty was my little shadow and followed me around everywhere. He loved a fuss.

Red 🐱

This handsome chap and I spent our first visit together recently. He really is such a love bug. He sadly has diabetes and has to have insulin injections but this doesn't hold him back. He takes his insulin so well. What a champ.

Tigger & Maple 🐱🐶

Every so often I have the pleasure of looking after these two beautiful girls for the day/evening. Tigger tries to bring me closer with her paw so that she can smell me but also for a little head touch. It's extremely cute.

Frank and Lionel 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

I have been meaning to post these two brothers since I finished their visits a couple of weeks ago. They really are the sweetest boys. Frank supervises me in the kitchen whilst I'm serving their breakfast and Lionel uses that time to dart around the house having zoomies. Lionel is also such a cutie when he paws at you for strokes!

My recent visits with this absolute sweetheart. Lulu visits are always so lovely. She greets me at the door and wants non-stop fuss, whether that be strokes, brushing, rubbing herself all over me, sitting on my lap or nibbling my fingers (love bites supposedly 🤣).

Oh Theo, I will miss our visits! 💓 I recently had the longest booked service so far and it was such a lovely one. All of the videos attached to this Reel (there were a lot more that I couldn't fit in 😅) were ones sent to his owner. 📸 Pictures and videos for EVERY single visit are (I believe) crucial. Not only because you very likely miss your cat but because it's reassurance that they are receiving the care needed and promised. Theo and I had "brushbrush" time every day. It was vital that I carried on his routine, especially with it being something he loved. I did shed a tear on my last visit with him. Who can blame me? Hoovering a cat was a first for me!😮 I never thought I'd say that... If hadn't seen it myself in person at the Meet & Greet I wouldn't have believed it! As well as her medication daily, being hoovered was also on the agenda! 😮 This is the beautiful KK (KupKake) and she is partial to being hoovered! Infact when I was hoovering around the litter trays for her and her brother she made a bee-line for me.
