“Let your dog’s ears dance freely – no ties needed!
We would like to spread the message that tying up your dogs ears with a hair bobble, when they are eating or drinking, poses risks to your dog’s health.
Tying a dog’s ears back with a hair bobble is not directly comparable to any common practice in humans. Dogs have more sensitive ears and are easily injured.
Doing this action poses risks, including circulation restriction, discomfort, and potential injury to the ears. It’s essential to prioritise your dog’s comfort and well-being, avoiding practices that may cause harm.

▪️if you need to manage your dog’s ear position for grooming it’s advisable to use safe and gentle methods. We recommend seeking advice from a reputable groomer.

Some dogs hate their nails done, and some are terrified, when you're working with a dog that has issues you have to desensitize them, and this is a quick glimpse into how I did it with Marley.
The first time he came I had to put him in a sling to do them he was so bad.
(The sling is for geriatric dogs that can't stand for long but can also be used to raise a dog's feet off the table usually calming them down)
This is his 3rd time with me and he's getting better each time. And as you can see he's a smiler!

This is Marleys 3rd time for his groom with me, the first time has was a nightmare doing his nails, he's in about every 3 months, and this is where we are up...

You may remember auzzie labradoodle Billy, the last I saw him he had to be clipped off because he was matted at the skin, well look at him now, 2.months later and he's back looking good again.

It's important with long/thick coated dogs to make sure you brush them properly and the mistake most people make it they only brush the edge of the fur, you must brush it from the skin, because if the knots start at the skin your groomer has no choice but to shave it out for the comfort of your dog.

Billy is on a 8 week schedule at the moment, but we may have to bring that forward to 4-6 weeks because as the coat gets longer it's harder to manage and requires thorough daily brushing to keep it tangle/knot free.
The wet and rainy weather also impacts the coat massively as the get covered in mud on walks and if that isn't rinsed and brushed out properly each and every walk then it can quickly start knotting up.

Remember the wetter the weather the more brushing required.

Booking you dog in at the groomers on regular scheduled appointments helps keep the dog tangle free and allows you to get the coat to your desired length.

Today Billy had a bath and face, feet and hygiene trim. Nothing was taken off his body, his coat was perfect, not 1 knot. ❤️

Please note, I am no longer grooming cats due to people bringing them for unnecessary reasons, eg, bath, clip off (for no reason).

This is not fair to your cat nor is it fair to me.
Most Cats do not like being in a carrier, a car, or handled, so to bringing them (and traveling past umpteen vets to get to me) for their nails (for eg) is unfair to the cat!

I have been seeing cats shaking and terrified and for no real reason other than the owners want the fur to stop coming out 🙄 or want them cutting shorter (again for no reason other than they mault)
Regular daily brushing with a flea comb for eg will help that, do it in short sessions but often, some cats love being groomed, others don't, so go slow and be patient with those that dont like it.

Also get some wood or a branch and have the cats use that as a scratching post, that's more effective at keeping the nails short than a scratch post which seems to just remove the sheath of the nail.

It stresses me out to see a cat so frightened and to be brought in without real need. Hence why I have made the decision to stop doing them.

Those already booked will be honoured but that's it.
Sorry for any inconvenience but I'm doing what's right for the cat.

Despite people thinking having their pet clipped short will help them keep cool, it's actually the opposite, when you clip the coat on a super short blade your actually taking away the dogs natural layer of protection, so now he can't regulate his body temperature, as long as you keep your pet knot free and regularly brushed his coat will act as a coolant.
To help him why not treat him to a.coolant like listed below

When the temperature is 20 degrees or above, all training and grooming is rescheduled to cooler times or different days!...

When the temperature is 20 degrees or above, all training and grooming is rescheduled to cooler times or different days!

Its not worth the risk, and parking in the shade and walking under trees is no different when the temperature is like it is now!!

If it's hot for you it's too hot for your dog!!

There are a number of breeds/crossbreeds that will require regular trips to the groomer. For some every 6 weeks is haircut day!

We need to make the experience for them as pleasant as possible, some dogs love their salon days, others are not so keen.

To make their experience better start them young! Under 6 months is ideal before their weariness/anxiety kicks in.

Leaving it too long can result in a matted coat. This would make them feel extremely uncomfortable and make the first groom experience a more intense and possibly uncomfortable one. So again, start them young!

By starting them young you can also learn from your groomer how to maintain your dogs coat in between grooms.

Just a heads up, with those warmer days, once the temperature reaches 20 degree's or above all grooming and training will be postponed until cooler days. (It gets super hot in the cabin with the dryer going and the heat of the day)
Any questions ask!
I will of course notify you the day before.

08/04/2023

Unfortunately due to the huge price increases on everything I now have no alternative but to increase my prices, I have tried for as long as possible to absorb the price changes myself but it is no longer feasible.

Effective immediately!!

I have tried to be as fair as I possibly can and I appreciate many of you may not want to pay the extra, which is perfectly fine, but please be aware I cannot afford to do them at a lower price, and I appreciate that if prices keep increasing it is probably going to make it not worth me continuing grooming if I have to keep upping my prices.

But I am hoping that most if not all, understand.

Please note these prices are for dogs who come every 4-12 weeks.
There's a rough guide in the album 'price lists' that tell you how often your breed needs doing.
Or of course you can always ask me, as each individual dog and owner will differ slightly depending how well their groomed at home.

For dogs that are not on a regular schedule then your price will be slightly higher..
