To offer dogs a second leash of life:

We aim to offer the best possible care to our dogs while they are with us and until their right 'forever home' is found. We will interact with and assess each dog while in our care, so that new owners can be provided with as full a picture as possible. We will carry out a home check to assess suitablility prior to adoptions. We will offer advice an

d support to new owners prior to and after adoption. We aim to try neuter when it is in the best interest of the animal or owner to do so. We aim to microchip where possible.

FROSTY

This little girl is a perfect example of "Out in the day, is NOT OK!"

At just over 300g she was on Andy's lawn in Golspie, looked bright, ate the offered food, had a wee drink from his pond and seemed alert, if a bit small. Fortunately Andy checked with friend Lynne who knew something was likely to be wrong if FROSTY had appeared in the mid afternoon.

Boxed and brought to our Hogspital things would have been tough enough for her in the wild if her size was the only consideration but as well as being exceptionally skinny and dehydrated (hard for the untrained eye to detect) she is struggling with a very heavy internal parasite burden.

Honestly, she wouldn't have stood a chance, so we are very relieved that she's here, even with her unwelcome Lungworm passengers!

She's been rehydrated, stabilised, medicated and settled.... as well as a 10 day treatment programme she needs a few weeks of feeding up before we can think about her release plan.....
