Benson is one of our nurse team’s favourite patients!

He comes in every 4 weeks or so for his a**l glands to be expressed! He always comes through the back happy as can be and is good as gold. Even when we’ve finished his a**l glands, he’s so happy he does spins on the spot!

Benson is a part of our Pet Health Club so there is no charge for his a**l gland visits, this is beneficial for patients like Benson as he can come as many times as he likes to make him feel better! This also applies to nail clips!

Very special patient alert!

This is Bobby who was lucky enough to be our first orthopaedic surgery patient in a good few years! He had a procedure called a lateral suture which he needed due to his bad knee. (Explanation below)

The cruciate ligaments are two strands of tissue that connect the femur and tibia(upper and lower leg) together.
In Bobby’s case, one of these ligaments had ruptured. Which means his stifle (knee) joint was unstable and would slide around causing him to struggle on this leg.
The surgery involved drilling a hole into his tibia and using a very strong suture material to secure the stifle joint and act like another ligament.

In the pictures below there is a diagram showing what was carried out as well as how Bobby’s little leg had to be displayed during surgery to keep everything sterile! (It is in fact not a chicken leg!)

He recovered amazingly from his surgery and was even trying to use his sore leg on the way out!
