Cats communicate through their body language.

The signs they use to communicate are very different to those of people!

A cat's tail is often the most expressive part of their body. By learning what the different tail positions and movements mean, you can better understand your cat - and build a better relationship with them!

Just remember:
- These signs can be very subtle, and they don't mean the same thing every time,
- Your cat's behavior depends on their environment,
- Compare these signs to the way your cat usually acts.

Has your cat recently started acting different? This can be a sign of illness. Book a check-up with us!

We have had a deceased black and white male cat brought into the practice found in Luntsheath Road. If you think this is your cat please contact the practice on 01513057333 - Owner Found

Preparing your dog for colder temperatures during the winter months is essential and includes gradually acclimating them to the freezing weather, ensuring they have a warm and comfortable place to rest. Some dogs may also need clothing and accessories to keep them toasty warm 🥰

Various factors can affect your dog’s cold tolerance:

🐶 Dog breed

🐶 Size

🐶 Age

🐶 Coat thickness

Our temperature guide can be used as a useful tool to help decide whether it is safe to take your dog for a walk or to let them play outside during the remaining winter months. 🐾

Via Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund: Let’s talk rabbit diets 🌿

Our pet rabbits are fundamentally the same as their wild cousins, so just as their homes should allow them to display their natural behaviours, their diet should mimic what wild rabbits eat as closely as possible.

A rabbit’s diet should be made up of:

85% hay or grass
10% leafy green veg
5% extruded pellets or nuggets (about an egg-cup full)

With Storm Éowyn on it's way, take note of our tips to help keep pooches safe & calm during the bad weather 🌧️ 👇⁣

• Make sure your house and garden are secure and keep your dog indoors during storms.⁣
• Close curtains, turn lights on, and turn up the volume on your TV or radio 🔊⁣
• Ensure they have a safe place to retreat to, like their bed or a den.⁣
• If you can go outside, keep your dog safe on a lead and ensure they’re wearing a collar and tag.⁣
• Keep your pooch away from flood water.⁣

Via Vets Now: As the temperature continues to drop and some parts of the country get a dusting of snow, please remember to be aware of the dangers that ice, snow, and particularly grit, can cause to your pet's paws.

If we get a cold snap it’s great fun to get out and about with your dog. But it’s important to keep a regular check on their paws as ice and snow can ball up in the space between their toes and there is also the risk of frostbite. Salt and other chemicals used to grit roads and pavements can also be an irritant to your dog’s pads, especially if they have any small abrasions, so we would advise wiping their paws with a cloth and warm water when you get home.
