How much sleep does your pup actually get?

We think so much about exercise and training when we get a dog but often we don't consider how much sleep they get.
A lot of the 'normal' puppy issues we see are usually down to over stimulation and lack of proper sleep.
A regular napping schedule alongside training, exercise and enrichment is the key to a happy and content puppy.

When used in a positive way, a crate or pen should be a safe space for your puppy to learn when you would like them to sleep.

It's time for a reintroduction...

Hello, I'm Amy and this is my Skeeter.

I've been dog training and walking for more than 10 years, with nearly 15 years experience of small animal care.

Here at Positively Peaches, I focus on training walks. I believe a dog walker should be there to help support your training needs, helping do the work while you're out at work. I want to help teach your dog life skills so that you can get the very best from your dog. I also value the importance of puppy socialisation and am here to help make sure every box is ticked.

I believe in supporting pet owners in all aspects of the care of their animals. I also provide in-home small animal care while you're on holiday. This includes rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, chickens and more.

All of my services can be individually tailored to your needs, with regular updates all part of the service.

I want to give you peace of mind that whatever animal you entrust in my care, their welfare is my priority.

Breaking our accidental social media silence to say thank you.
Skeeter had routine surgery planned this week but became very unwell beforehand meaning services haven't been as reliable as I'd like.
So a huge thank you to the regulars who have helped cover to allow Skeeter the time he needed to rest and recuperate. It's been a tricky week and your kindness and understanding really has made it easier. I don't like not being consistent and reliable for our gang, but caring for Skeeter has to come first.
Now I promise to make more appearances on here, we've just been so busy training dogs, no time for the socials!

We've been keeping a little secret 🤫

You may have noticed we've not been our usual super organised selves and we've definitely been far too quiet with our updates. We've had a very busy few weeks, busy but super exciting, but now normal service can resume!

Amy is working as a support trainer on the second series of The Dog Academy. Filming has just finished and there'll be lots to see once the show starts on TV.

So thank you for your patience and let's get back on top form 💪🏼

We're very quiet on the socials at the moment, too busy training dogs!

Just a quick note to say August and September are looking super busy! Although I'm definitely not complaining, planning can be tricky and I absolutely hate not being able to meet any special requests, so just a quick message to my regulars, if there's anything out of the ordinary you need, please, the sooner you ask the better chance of me being able to help! Also if there's any dates you don't need, please let me know so I know where there are slots available.

Loose lead walking, walking nicely on a lead, not pulling. However you want to describe it. Do you know what it looks like?

Walking nicely on the lead isn't about your dog looking at you or being glued to your leg. It's all about the lead being loose and your dog being aware that pulling is not what you want.

If you want your dog to be able to walk on a loose lead, they have to learn to adjust their pace to be with you. The pace of 2 legs vs 4 legs is never going to match up easily.

It's so important with whatever you're training that you know exactly what you want the behaviour to look like. Eye contact and closeness is great, but that is not what loose lead walking is about and it isn't a realistic expectation of what your on lead walks should look like.

**What are Training Walks?**

"A dog walking service that works with you to train your dog"

A regular dog walker who will visit your dog while you're at work, but who will also create and maintain a bespoke training plan to cover your needs.

This is more than just lead walking and recall training, although we're more than happy to help with that! We aim to teach your dog practical behaviours that enable them to live alongside you, wherever you'd like to go with them.
